I just received an invitation to invite students to take part in the Connecticut Association of Public School Superintendents Video Contest.  They are inviting kids to create a video that answers the question “How would you transform education?” Prizes range from $800-200.  I realize that mostly parents subscribe to these posts, so I am asking that you share this with your child if you think they would be interested. Any kid is more than welcome to do this at home, but if they would like to come after school I will be available on Wednesdays from 3-4:30pm.  We could spend some time going over some basic tricks and tips to video editing, and then kids can work at their own speed to finish before the April 2 due date.  Video editing software was just installed on the computers in the library for us to use.  More information can be found by clicking  here.

If you are kid and reading this…I know making a video can be intimidating.  We would be going up against schools that have much better equipment, and much much much better software.  I am sure they will create multimedia magic.  So I have a suggestion…do the opposite.  Be quiet, be powerful, be different…just like the last videos we made.
