When America was still new to the world there was an Indian named Tecumseh, who dreamed of uniting all the Indians to fight the settlers that were taking their lands. My text book writes about him without any emotion at all. It’s important to have emotion because then you get a picture of what people were really like. The book just explains this man’s achievements and dreams. It needs to tell us more about what this man was thinking at the time.

The book just explains this mans’s achievements and dreams. It needs to tell us more about what this man was thinking at the time.
In 1881 Japan formed their first constitution. However it was nothing like ours. Japan had an emperor, so the constitution didn’t really do much for the people except provide them with a parliament that had little control. By making this the emperor was looking to earn the people’s respect and do something to make him look good. The people were happy with the idea but not with the way it was carried out. Talk about a bad leader.
Does a great leader make history or does history make a great leader. I believe history makes a great leader. History teaches us what a great leader is and how they came to be one. For example, take Martin Luther King, he was a great leader that got black people equal rights. Do think he was just born and magically became a leader? No, when he was in school he learned about other leaders and how they came to be. Then he applied that knowledge to becoming a leader himself. To prove my point further, in one of Mr. King’s speeches he said that we must fight our enemies with peace like Gandhi did.
As you probably already know George Washington was the first president of the U.S. However, did you know that he was a great leader also? There are many examples of his amazing ability to lead. First, he led a poorly trained army across the Delaware into a Hessian (well trained soldiers) encampment. They attacked in the morning and took the base with absolutely no casualties of their own. Without Washington leading them the soldiers probably would’ve never crossed the river and took the base. Another example is the battle of Yorktown. We were in a battle with the British and they out manned and were better equipped than us. Everyone thought any further effort was futile and we were wasting money, but who saw hope in it and urged the soldiers to keep fighting? George Washington did and it wasn’t in vain because not only did we win the battle, but we also won our freedom. Finally, this great leader was the first president of the U.S. This is the biggest responsibility in our country and he was the first person to take it on. What if the people were unhappy with you and revolted? George Washington was a test rat he didn’t know what to expect.
For the past few weeks our social studies class has been studying significant objects and the stories behind them. Then we got assigned an historic event that took place in our country’s birth. After that we picked an object having to do with the event and merged the two to form a true story about the object. Finally, we put the object and the story on auction where all the proceeds go to charity. My group got assigned the Alien and Sedition Acts. History and learning mixed in with some creativeness, fun, and charity made the made the perfect design. In my mind it was flawless.
A good leader is strong, smart, and cares about the people he/she is leading. Too many politicians these days are only in it for themselves. A good leader has too listen to what the people want. However they also have to be strong and smart so if the people want something crazy they will know to say no. Great leaders are made. I don’t think a good leader can be born, we’re all born with the same knowledge and ethics. To aquire leadership a person must work for it and want it. I believe I’m a leader. Once, I was a leader in church. In one service we had to go up to the altar with little kids. When it time to go back to our seats no one went for a long time. the n I decided to start going and every one followed me. If I didn’t lead we would have been just standing there for a really long time. In a camp I was doing once we had to put together a bunch of wood pieces to form a certain shape. Automatically this one kid took charge of the whole thing . He was telling everybody what to do and being a real leader. Like everybody else I just decided to listen to him. I guess he was a good leader because we had the whole thing done in 5 minutes, a new record. Any one can be a leader if they work at it. for example, say you’re a general in a war. You cant just tell your troops your going to lead them and you magically become a leader. You have to actually carry out your promise by never quitting on them or head a group of soldiers into an enemy hide out. That’s what makes a true leader. My strongest abilities as a leader are that I’m not afraid of failure and embarrassment. If you’re afraid of these things you can’t function and therefore you can’t lead.
I don’t know if you’ve ever seen Monte Python. It’s a British comedy movie making fun of the knights of the round table and their quest for the holy grail. In one of the scenes one of the knights of the round table needs to cross a bridge guarded by a black knight. When the black knight doesn’t let the other knight cross they get into a sword fight. In the fight the knight of the round table cuts off the black knight’s arm and he calls it just a flesh wound. Then he gets all his limbs cut off but still wants to fight. It was pretty funny. I told my friend about this and on my twelfth birthday she got me the black knight, it’s arms do come off. This toy pulled us closer together because we now had a good memory and something to laugh about.
Its been 5 months since the invaders took over. 5 long hard months of death and destruction. The resistance is growing, were now up to about 50,000 American soldiers and were growing every day. At first the invaders offerde peace and wanted to help our world prosper. Then they became greedy and started stealing from us. The invaders then began killing us. However a lot of us escaped and formed a secret resistance to fight the aliens. Currently we’re stationed in New York and we’re hammering the invaders. We still need all the help we can get, so join us.

For Christmas the only thing I want is an Xbox 360. It has really good games like battlefield bad company. My friend has this system at his house and the graphics for every game are amazing, they are ten times better than anything else out there. I currently have the wii and I really don’t like it. The graphics kind of look like a cartoon and it’s too hard to control your player with the controller. A lot of people think that the Xbox only play games like black ops. It also has good T games like Bad company 1. If I could only have one thing for the next two Christmases it would be an Xbox 360 and Battlefield Bad company 1.
