Great leaders make history.
I believe that great leaders make history. History can not be recorded without great leaders. As President Obama once said, “History is not written for us, but by us.” I want to rephrase the title of this post a little bit. Instead of “Great leaders make history”, it should be, “Leaders make history.” You don’t have to be popular and famous beforehand to become a leader. I watched a video earlier today and it was about the protests in Egypt. There was a man and he said, “We will not be silenced, whether you’re a Christian, whether you’re a Muslim, whether you’re an atheist, you will demand your rights, and we will have our rights, one way or the other! We will never be silenced!” (Here’s the link if you haven’t seen it yet:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ThvBJMzmSZI) There he was, an ordinary man, now a leader. Everyone is now talking about him. If I had the power, I would make him the President of Egypt. He didn’t have to be high in power to become a leader.

What do you think about what’s going on in Egypt right now? We know there are strong leaders in the country, but what can they do to help the situation?
I think they should keep spreading the news to the rest of the world using Twitter and Facebook and keep protesting but protest peacefully this time.
I diagree. In history there has to be situations that present themselves for leaders to do something heroic. A leader can’t just go and do something heroic. A situation has to occur for someone to be a leader, therefor history makes leader. Actually, I’d rephrase that to history gives leadership oppurtunities because somone may not do something proactive with that situation. That would not be very leader-like.
