When I was playing the campaign of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, there was an amazing quote that one of the characters said.

Captain Mactavish: ”We’ve got 1 good machine gun. They’ve got a thousand.”

Captain Price: ”The healthy human mind doesn’t wake up in the morning thinking this is its last day on Earth. But I think that’s a luxury. Not a curse. To know you’re close to the end is a kind of freedom. Good time to take…inventory. Outgunned. Outnumbered. Out of our minds. On a suicide mission. But the sand and the rocks here, stained with thousands of years of warfare…They will remember us. For this. Because out of all our vast array of nightmares, this is the one we choose for ourselves. We go forward like a breath exhaled from the Earth. With vigor in our hearts and one goal in sight: We. Will. Kill him. This is for the record. History is written by the victor. History is filled with liars. If he lives and we die, his truth becomes written-and ours is lost. He will be a hero. ‘Cause all you need to change the world is one good lie and a river of blood. He’s about to complete the greatest trick a liar ever played on history… But only if he lives, and we die.”

I keep reading this over and over again. It is an amazing quote.

One word to describe Inception: Breathtaking

Dom Cobb (Leonardo DiCaprio) is a kind of spy called an extractor. He and his partner Arthur, (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) go into a target’s dream and extract information from their subconscious mind. They’ve been successful most of time. But then, a man who owns a energy company wants them to go into the mind of the son of another energy company’s CEO. Cobb is told to try to make the son break the company’s empire by using Inception. Inception means to plant an idea into someone else’s mind.

Before I saw the movie, I knew Christopher Nolan wasn’t going to disappoint me. Batman Begins and The Dark Knight were amazing. I was kind of nervous at first, since this wasn’t a Batman movie, that Nolan might not pull it off. But then, I looked at the cast. Leonardo DiCaprio, Ken Watanabe, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Ellen Page, Tom Hardy, and Michael Caine were some of the actors in the movie. Then, I knew. This was going to be an awesome movie. What made it even better, was that Hans Zimmer was the composer! I loved what he did with Batman and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. If you’ve seen a lot of movies, you’ll notice that a some of the actors are from some off Nolan’s previous movies.

This is one amazing movie. I really think that Inception should have won every category that it was nominated for. I give this movie a 5 out 5.

In the textbook that I use in my social studies class, it says that Federalists from New England went to the Hartford Convention. The textbook gave no names or pictures for that section. Was the convention big? I don’t know because of the lack of detail from the textbook. It didn’t even tell me when the convention happened!!

When I got on the internet, I found out so much more information on the Hartford Convention. Using Wikipedia, I found out that it was on December 15, 1814 through January 4, 1815. And that was only the first sentence! If I would have to rate the textbook, I would give it a 2 out of 10. Why? Well, it was incredibly boring, and I learned little from it. If I would rate Wikipedia, I would give it a 1o out 0f 10 because it tells me everything about the convention. It even tells me who went there! If I could change this, I would put more pictures, add a lot of more information, and not make it boring by putting an internet link at the side of the section if they want to watch a video on it just like they do in math books.

Here is a visual that I would add….

For more info on this picture:http://loc.harpweek.com/lcpoliticalcartoons/DisplayCartoonLarge.asp?MaxID=16&UniqueID=12&Year=1814&YearMark=181

I believe that great leaders make history. History can not be recorded without great leaders. As President Obama once said, “History is not written for us, but by us.” I want to rephrase the title of this post a little bit. Instead of “Great leaders make history”, it should be, “Leaders make history.” You don’t have to be popular and famous beforehand to become a leader. I watched a video earlier today and it was about the protests in Egypt. There was a man and he said, “We will not be silenced, whether you’re a Christian, whether you’re a Muslim, whether you’re an atheist, you will demand your rights, and we will have our rights, one way or the other! We will never be silenced!” (Here’s the link if you haven’t seen it yet:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ThvBJMzmSZI) There he was, an ordinary man, now a leader. Everyone is now talking about him. If I had the power, I would make him the President of Egypt. He didn’t have to be high in power to become a leader.

President Obama is a great leader. He is responsible, friendly, and smart. When BP caused the oil spill, Obama was responsible and knew what to do and where to go after it happened. Remember George W. Bush? What did he do when hurricane katrina hit? Obama went to the Gulf Coast, and talked to a lot of the local fishermen. He is very friendly because he listens to the American people. He has a weekly address on Youtube in which he talks about current events. He is smart because he is a strong leader and he is willing to make hard decisions. Imagine if we had a leader like President Mubarak of Egypt. How would you feel?

Leaders should be brave and courageous. They have to stand out from the rest of the crowd. Leaders are made, not born. Anyone can be a leader, you just have to have the courage to become one. I’ve been a leader at my karate class multiple times. The instructor says that we will need leaders, and usually it will be my sister and I. A time I followed a leader was when I played football with the whole neighborhood and my neighbor wanted to be the leader. He played for the high school, so I agreed that he should be the leader. After listening to all of his plays and ideas, we beat the other team pretty bad. Anyone can become a leader. I’m not always a leader, but if there needs to be one, I will definitely fill the spot.

This is a Disney World hat. When you probably saw this picture you probably thought about something related to Disney. Things like Disney World, Disney films, or even Mickey Mouse. But when I look at this hat, I think of all the great times I had on the Norwegian Sky cruise ship from Norwegian Cruise Lines. Why? Well, I don’t know why. Maybe it is because I under estimated how much fun a cruise ship could be. During the beginning of summer vacation last year, I was a very disappointed that my family and I weren’t going to Disney World and instead some cruise line we’ve never heard of. That cruise was the best vacation of my life. While I was on the cruise ship, I would wake up, walk to a restaurant, eat a lot, bring some leftovers back to the room, and then watch some TV in their relaxing beds…. all by myself! My mom would be somewhere like the spa and my dad…. well I wouldn’t know where he would be. I could do whatever I wanted like swim in the big pools or just play basketball. If I was at Disney World, then I would be waking up in some cheap hotel outside of the Disney Resort, walk around the parks with my parents, wait in 40 min. lines for boring 5 min. rides in 100 degree weather, and eat off the dollar menu at the nearest fast food chain in Orlando. When I was on the cruise, they had different kinds of food that I’ve never had before that were really good! Since this was a cruise and that everything gets paid for before hand, you get unlimited food! I also met lots of interesting people on the ship that I will never see again. They would act crazy in front of everyone and yell randomly. I asked them, “why do you do that?”Then, one of the guys said, “Well, we’re never going to see each other again, so why not?” It made me smile. When we got back to home in the middle of July, all the yards in our town looked like wastelands. Most of our grass was a dark shade of yellow, and it was around 90 degrees outside. I really felt like going back to that cruise ship. When I turned on the TV at my house there was a commercial for Norwegian Cruse Lines with Nickelodeon. Turns out the cruise line was pretty popular after all.
