Facts the textbook gives you on Tecumseh

-Tecumseh was an Indian leader of the tribe Shawnee

-He was a skilled leader

-Before he left he warned his brother of the Americans and not to fight them, but his brother ignored him

-Didn’t think the Americans should take the Indians land

-He warned tribes about the settlers

-He brought together Indian tribes to help fight against the Americans

- Told Harrison(Governor of Indiana at the time) the Indians didn’t like the treaty

Interesting facts about Tecumseh

-Born March 1768 and died October 5, 1813

-Joined the British in Canada to capture Fort Detroit

- He was killed in the Battle of Thames

-He will always be remembered by Canadians for his defense for the country

They did an ok job with talking about him. If I was the editor I would give a better detail on how him and his brother worked together to help the Indians join together. Also When I looked at different websites I found more descriptive facts on him and his roles during the war and what he did. Also I would just more facts on his life and how he was important to the people in Candaians and why they thought of him like that.

I believe Gandhi was a great leader in his time. I think Gandhi was a great leader because he was modest, humble, and had a lot of faith. When he was alive India was mainly controlled by Great Britain at the time.Great Britain didn’t seem bad but as time went on they were getting more cruel. Such as, killing innocent men, women, and children for no reason and killed about 4000 people in a gathering outside in India. This struck Gandhi , he didn’t like seeing violence everywhere he went, he wanted it to be a peaceful place. So he started fighting back but without violence. Some examples were he marched through the sea to fight against the salt tax. Once when he was on train he was told to get off by a British officer even thoughit wasn’t his stop. But he didn’t so the British finally just threw him off the train. Gandhiwas just fighting for his rights by not doing what the British want him to do but NOT with violence. Gandhi wanted to show the Indians that it doesn’t matter what religion you are, they should all work with and help each other. India soon got their independence but Gandhi was mostly one of the reasons and that is what makes him a good leader, fighting for his rights but without violence.

I think the significant object went well and it was fun. I learned that something that may seem small to some people might mean alot to other people. Such as a piece of cloth some people might think it’s just a piece of cloth but to the person’s who brought the cloth grandma’s might of made it for them and it reminds you of her. What might be the most challenging is writing a story for the object. You really have to think how can I make this little object have this huge important story for it’s history. I think that was the most challenging because you really need to make people believe it and you really just need to sell the story. So to me me I thought it was a fun experience.

Being a leader takes a lot courage and bravery. Also, you need to be able to know what you are doing and lead people somewhere either it’s through a course or winning a game. I think leaders are made because you will learn from other people how to be a leader and you will learn from experience yourself. Some people might have the ability and is a natural leader but they will probably find that out from experience from activities that they might do. I was a leader once when my soccer team was in a tournament and I was helping them out telling them where to go and what to do better next time out on the field. I knew that I was being a good leader. I followed a leader when we were hiking and I had a tour guide take us to the destination. It was good for me to be a follower there because I would probably get lost and I wouldn’t know where I was going. I think I’m a leader I’m helpful and people sometimes follow me if i know what I’m doing. The one thing that I think is standing in my way to be better one is being more open and talkative to people and if I do those key characteristics then I will be a good leader.

It was a Wednesday afternoon in the fall of 2009 and that day was the Cheshire invitational for cross-country. Earlier that day i was on a field trip to the Bronx Zoo with my class, so i practically spent my whole day walking around the zoo. I was really tired and didn’t feel like running an invitational, but the bus came to the school just on time so my dad drove me all the way to the Cheshire invitational. I was actually hoping we wouldn’t make it on time so i wouldn’t be able to run. Just my luck we made right before the start. So I’m pretty tired and frustrated that I made it. But I had no choice but to run. So the race starts and I’m in 6Th, I ran this course before so I know where I am going. So during the race a few girls took a wrong turn and I knew it was my chance to get ahead so I sprinted up. Before I know it I’m in 1st place. I knew I had to keep my fast pace up and as I’m heading to the straight I away I gave it my all and I came in first! I had so many emotions going on inside of me, I’m happy, excited and i feel like i am about to faint. It has been my first huge thing I have ever won and I just can’t believe it. So now I’m glad that I did make on time even though I didn’t want to run.

February 27,2011 is the day when I am going to my soccer tournament in Williamsburg, Virginia. My team is called CT ODP, you mainly play for your state and play against different states. First, my family stopped at Washington D.C, where we visited some of the museums . We visited the Historical museum and the Air and Space museum like we did last year for the same tournament. After we drove to Williamsburg and went to a village where it showed how people lived in the 1800′s. The next day had had 2 soccer games, we played against 2 different states. We won 1 and lost 1 After my games my family and I went out to eat. On Sunday I played 1 more game, we won. After my games we went to the outlets, bought some clothes and headed back to Connecticut.

I believein a loose constitution. I believe that because I think its good to interpret things and not make it just straight forward. For example if someone told you, you have to eat dinner or the said you have to eat chicken peas and mashed potatoes. Which one would you choose? I would choose that you have to eat dinner because you have a choice, you can speak up on what you want , and you have variety. That is just what I want in a constitution, we can speak up and we have choices on what we want. I wouldn’t want a constitution that is straight forward and you can’t have a say in something it’s just you have to do this no questions about it. So having a loose constitution would make your say count because people would actually put your words into consideration.

The Supreme Court is the highest court in the judicial body, it has 8 associate justices who are nominated by the president and voted by the senate (majority vote). If they are appointed they would be in that position for life. They meet in Washington D.C in the United States Supreme Court Building. The Supreme Court is also called the High Court or Scotus. The architect is there are 16 marble columns at the main entrance of the Supreme court and above them is a saying “Equal Justice Under Law”. Also beside the marble columns are statues. The statues are Contemplation of Justice and Guardian or Authority of Law. There are Bronze flagpoles, they are in printed with symbolic designs of the scales and swords, the book, mask and torch, pen and mace, and the four elements- air, earth fire and water. Mainly the style is what attracts people to the building. The style is Corinthian from the Romans. This style mainly for Museums but it was used for the supreme court to match the other building surrounding them.
