Stairway to Heaven.

Ah, the song Stairway to Heaven by Led Zeppelin, a song that i just listened to and forgot how much I love it. I like how slow, and calming it is, and i listen to Scream-O metal music!! I love this song so much though, i dont see how you can’t. BUT everybody’s entitled to their own opinion, do i agree if they don’t like it? NO! I love this song. Another thing i don’t like about what people say about this song, is the backtracking. I really don’t think the song Stairway to HEAVEN would have backtracking in it to the devil. Yes i said it, people think there is backtracking to the devil, i do not think this was meant to be there, and you can only really notice it when you read what the backtracking is said to say. Oh it makes me wonder, who first said this.

I think they did a good, boring, job on this article. I would have included a few other things in this article though… For example: I would have said how many warriors/ soldiers there were, and how many were killed/ injured. there were 500–700 warriors for the Indians, 36- 50 killed, 60- 80 wounded. The Americans had 470 infantry,370 cavalry, and 360 militia. Out of those men, 62 killed, and 126 wounded. It may sound surprising how more Americans died and were wounded, but there were so many more of them. I would just put this interesting fact in the end of the article, because I know guys would definitely like that fact, and girls too. if you would like any more information, you can click here.

Valentines day is not a modern holiday. This is what most people think, but it actually started getting popular in the 19Th century! The holiday, which began as a feast day for a saint in Roman times, had taken on romantic overtones by the 1600s. The sending of romantic greetings by mail took hold by the early 1800s, and an industry producing cards for St. Valentine’s Day began in New England before the Civil War. It was shockingly originated in the 1600′s, but later got popular in the 1800′s. I never knew that! i found an article on it and ill set a link here. Does history make great leaders, or do great leaders make history?

EASILY, my opinion is great leaders make history. I think this because leaders that go down in history, have to do/ lead something before they are in our history. For example, Lieutenant Speirs (world war 2 lieutenant) was a leader that went into history when he-… well just watch this reanactment from the HBO series Band of Brothers.its 100% true, but this man was ruthless, his modo was “once you accept that your already dead, it will be easier to kill” thats not exact but it was something along the lines of that. But he was a leader because he had almost no emotion, just fight for his country, only to follow the orders of the higher ranked, and thats what he did. Although I dont like some of the stuff he did to prisoners, if the myths are true, i still have great respect for what he did, and fighting to keep us all alive, even if we weren’t alive at the time.

Major Richard “Dick” Winters.

Major winters, sadly passed away just recently. He was a true leader, no doubt about it. He lived from January 21, 1918 – January 2, 2011. He commanded Company “E”, 2nd Battalion, 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division, during World War II. I know about him because of the non-fiction HBO series Band Of Brothers. I chose him as a leader because he was technically the leader of Company E. Winters once quoted ‎”I cherish the memories of a question my grandson asked me the other day when he said, ‘Grandpa, were you a hero in the war?’ Grandpa said ‘No… but I served in a company of heroes.” I’ll post a link of Winters here, please pay some respect and read about him. Maybe look up band of brothers Richard Winters on YouTube to see a few clips of this veteran. It’s depressing, because a lot of the veterans are passing away, I know I don’t personally know them but, it’s still sad to me how I’ve watched the show so much and then finding out that there gone. I found out he died because my friend told me, and m friend found out because of a Facebook group, that’s sad if you think about it. I once saw a quote on that group that said; “Its saddening that most people took less than two hours to hear about Micheal Jackson’s death, when it took some people 8 days to learn of the death of a true hero, Rest In Peace Major, you deserve it.” This is the most true quote I’ve ever seen. He was a leader in world war 2, and is a leader in our hearts. Rest In Peace, you’ve been through enough, I wish the best for your family.

Thinking about the marines (what i want to do when I’m older) I think about leadership. Every single person in the whole military, is a leader. They are brave, strong hearted, and anything and everything good. However there are “leaders of the leaders.” The smartest, person with the most common sense, and wisdom. These are the born leaders, one that i hope to be one day. The other men/ women in the marines, are a mixture of born and made leaders. I remember times when I was little being a leader in things small as a game of manhunt to now when ill play air soft and lead the team sometimes. You may think air soft is stupid, but i have to say its more fun then it seems. Whenever i think of leaders I think of school, because teachers lead the class. You are following a leader in school whether you realize it or not. I consider myself a leader and not a follower, I’m my own person and like it that way. if anyone wants to follow me then so be it, but I don’t follow. I hope to one day to show that i was a born leader, like i talked about. I think i am a leader because, I don’t show emotion very much so nobody thinks I’m sad, or mad. Usually they can only tell when I’m happy. I use my head, mind over body thinking things out before I do it. I have a lot of common sense for someone my age, i know some people who couldn’t guess which way an elevator is going if we gave them 2 tries! No common sense, or just plain dumb? I don’t even know. I’m also brave, I had- scratch that have to be brave with my stomach, and I wish to be a marine which takes bravery to be in. There saying is; the few, the proud, so you have to be proud with what you do. I have other good qualities, but well save those ones for later to talk about. Do you consider yourself a leader?

My Sentimental Object

These are my Thunder trucks from one of my first skateboards. There a little old and used, so they may look worthless to you, until you hear my story about them. Last year I got very sick because of my stomach issues toward the beginning of the year (of school). We just recently (my family) found out what was wrong with my stomach. Anyways last year I had to be puled out of school and be homeschooled because I was sick for too long and the school was starting to give problems to my parents. I ended up being home schooled, so I didn’t have many friends last year, only ones that lived around my street. So to pass the time by while everyone was at school (I only had 1-2 hours of schooling) I skateboarded. I built them, used them, learned tricks and basically it was my life. I ended up stopping for a while, but I’m starting to skate again. Just one thing, I cant land ANYTHING. Last year was a sad time for me, and I love having more friends this year, I don’t really feel left out now. If my friend never got me into skateboarding (like I said I had a few friends not zero friends) it would have been even tougher for me. Not as much time would of been passed quicker, not as much exercise, and how could i forget; not as many weird looks from people.

Do what’s right.

So I was asked to write a blog post on whether I think the Constitution should be interpreted strictly or loosely. I think that for now the Constitution should be interpreted very, very strict right now. I think this because so many crimes are being committed, and the punishments are becoming less and less drastic. Take the Cheshire home invasion, that has been going on for a while now, and they finally sent only one man to death for what he did. I think both of the men should have been sentenced to death a long time ago. What they did was just brutal, wrong, terrible, and words can’t even describe. I think this is because the Constitution is being interpreted loosely right now, and we need a change. Even if it’s just a little more stricter. If something really bad is committed then I think congress should be able to decide what gets to be done.

The Lincoln Memorial

The Lincoln memorial, is (obviously) a memorial of Abraham Lincoln. It is located on the National Mall in Washington D.C, it is there to honor Abraham Lincoln. Inside this building is a giant statue of Abraham Lincoln. The Lincoln Memorial, designed after the temples of ancient Greece, specifically a Greek Doric. As you can see in the picure, there is no doubt that is where the idea came from.

So a lot of people think that on December 21, 2012, thw world is going to end. I do not believe in this, and I have proof. The word was supposed to “end” several times before, most popular one was Y2K when we reached 2000. Y2K caused suicides, lost hope, and sadness, for absolutely nothing. I’m pretty sure we’re still alive, so why is everyone so sure that 2012 is the end of the world? I do not think this is going to happen, do you? Also if they are making movies of it, it just doesn’t seem “legit” to me. These are just a few of the reasons I don’t think it will happen
