Mysterious Moon

moon and stars, jupiter and its moons by oceandesetoiles.

The moon and the stars are a symbol of freedom from earth, that humans may not be the only ones out there. The stars and the  moon may be hosting different life forms. If we lived on the moon, would we have to pay taxes? Would we live the way we do today? It raises alot of questions. ‘The sky’s the limit’ many say. Well, the moon symbolizes that the sky is not the limit! People have been on the moon before, right?

The moon helps me remember that life could and should be better for everyone. It’s beauty is free to look at, one of the few things we don’t have to pay to watch! There is so much more to life that has to be discovered, and the moon and the stars are there for us to enjoy, so let’s leave them to be one of the few mysteries to life. No more shooting rockets at it or thinking about setting up hotels on the moon, just leave it be, and enjoy it’s mysterious beauty.

You Intended On an Action, but the Action was not what You Intended

You intended to give someone a gift they would love, but instead they hated it. Should we judge you by your intention of giving them a great gift, or your action of giving them something they hated? You intended on doing something, but you did something else instead. You intended on bringing peace, but instead you started a war.Sometimes our actions contradict our intentions. Always try to discover a person’s intentions before growing mad at them for their actions. A person should be defined by what their intentions were. You may be a really nice person, but your actions say other wise. You gave your teacher an apple to be nice, but there is a worm in the apple, that action points to you being a bad person. It could also be the other way around. You could intend for there to be a worm in the apple, but when there is no worm, the teacher will think your intentions were good. The next time you get an ugly sweater from grandma, always remember their intention.

Your Future and Friends

A relationship with a friend can effect the future you. If your best friend in the entire world betrayed you, wouldn’t that effect the trust you have in other people? So you wouldn’t trust any of your friends anymore. If you have positive experiences with a friend, your future self will have a better personality and relationship with people. If you have negative experiences, then you will have negative relationships with friends and other people. Your future decisions will also be affected by your relationships with friends. You could lose trust in the people around you if your own best friend betrayed you, or you could become a person who tries to cheer people up because of what your friend taught you, or rather, what you excperienced from them. Your relationships with people can effect your future decisions, has it happened to you already?

The Star Spangled Banner, Hisorically Accurate? What does it Mean?

The Star Spangled Banner was written during the war of 1812, but is it historically accurate? I think so, It sums up the whole war in a couple of verses. It sums up a war that took years to fight, into a five minute song. It describes how the flag was always there, at the beginning of the war, to the hours of terrible fighting. It was still there whe we claimed victory, and celebrated! If it was not historically accurate, it would not matter. If Francis Scott Key was not witnessing the battle, or witnessed the victory, it would not matter. The song is symbolic of our victory, our fighting, and our sacrifices to save the U.S.

Oh, say, can you see, by the dawn’s early light,
What so proudly we hailed at the twilight’s last gleaming?
Whose broad stripes and bright stars, thru the perilous fight,
O’er the ramparts we watched, were so gallantly streaming?
And the rockets’ red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there.
O say, does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave?

Does it sound like a different language to you? Here, I’ll translate it for you. The first line pretty much speaks for itself,It means”Can you see in the morning’s light” The second line means”We praised and saluted as night approched”The third line refers to our” flag still flying in the air through the dangerous fighting” The fourth line means” they watched the flag fly from behind there structure built for defense. The fifth line means”the rockets were bursting and the bombs were exploding. The sixth line means” the light that the rockets and bombs gave off was  the only source of light around, so when the bombs or rockets gave off light, they could see that the flag was still there. The seventh line pretty much describes itself it just means that the flag was waving in the air. The last line means ” the flag was waving over the land of the free people of America, because we had won the war, and the home of the brave people who risked their lives to save our country.

A Freak of Nature, or is Mother Nature Really Aware of her Surroundings?

Not many know about the war of 1812, but even fewer know about how Mother Nature interfered with the British’s destruction. On the day of August 25,1814, the British were burning the villages in Washington D.C. They had marched in the night before and entered the empty White House and feasted on the food they found in the dining hall. When they had finished the feasting, they burnt down the White house. They were very pleased and clueless about what was in store for them the next day. On the 25th, the White House was still on fire, and they continued to burn the city, failing to notice that there was a change in the air. It started as a thunderstorm in the distance, with loud cracking thunder and streaks of lightning. As the thunderstorm approached, the wind picked up immensley, and the thunderstorm transformed into a hurricane.  The pooring rain had doused out the fires set by the British, but the hurricane was causing worse damage in one hour then the British could in a day. The hurricanes winds picked up even more, why? Because a tornado had formed in the distance, and headed straight for Washington D.C. AKA, where the British were! The storms struck so fast that the British did not have enough time to take cover, and many were killed by flying debris and collapsing building and trees. When the storms calmed down two hours later, the soldiers that remained re-grouped and left Washington. It was told that three hurricanes had struck  near or over Washington that day, and though they caused a great amount of destruction, it saved parts of the most important building standing; the  White House. Sources:

Symbols and the American Flag

Symbols are created to give things a meaning, to seperate it from the rest. When you see a symbol, you know it is different then something else. When you see the Breast Cancer symbol, you know it is different from the American Cross. You can remember pictures better then words, and you can remember it forever. We create symbols when you want to give someone a lasting memory of what it is symbolizing.  The American Flag is one of the best known symbols around.  It is considered a symbol of the U.S. ’s freedom. When you see the American Flag, you tend to remember the war of 1812, and what we went through to gain our freedom. At the same time, when you see the American Flag you don’t remember the war, because you just remember the symbol. Symbols are all around you, some stand for something of great importance and some stand for small things.  Pictures from: http://www.onthisrockinc.com/American_Flag_and_Freedom_of_Religion.jpg

New passions for the New Year

I have a new passion for animals. I recently got a puppy a few months ago and I started watching shows on how to train her, like ‘It’s ME or the Dog’. I learned from these shows that hundreds of puppies are born each year, and about 25 to 50% of them are put into to shelters because the breeders can’t find homes for them.About 25 to 50% of those puppies in the shelter will be put to sleep because they could not find homes. When you think you are doing a good thing by breedind dogs, you are actually killing many. Did I also mention that about 5 to 10% will be abandoned? I felt horrible when I learned about this. So my New Years passion is to start volunteering in a no-kill shelter. I will try to find time on the weekends to help, or maybe after school. The only problem is that my mom may not have time to drive me, or my parents will try to discourage me because they think it will be to hard or painful to see some hurt dogs. When I grow up I might become someone who works in an animal shelter or a dog trainer.Dogs have just as many rights to live as humans, I am prepared to help them! The link below is the shelter I hope to work at.

Dale’s blog is a great blog to visit. He has tons of tabs on music, music and music. If you are a big music fan, check out his blog, maybe you could relate to his love of music. This is definitley not a boring blog, I could tell you that! He has music videos, stories and posts, pics and cute animated animals off to the side. Inspirational Quote

” Fiction reveals truths that reality obscures” Jessamyn West said. This quote tells all serious grown -ups that work and money problems are not what life is all about. The fiction of life is yet to be discovered. Never let the present stop you from dreaming, there is always a chance that a moon dragon flies over head during the late hours of the night. Maybe Big Foot really runs through the woods, or martians live on Mars. Reality of life takes the imagination away, we shouldn’t let it.
