The steps to Becoming a True President.

AAAJJJAndrew Jackson had a long life. He made various decisions in his life that influenced him to become President of the United States. Early in his life, Aj was born into a poor Irish Immigrant family, on March 15th, 1767. As a child Aj attended a good school and his mother had hopes for him to become a  Presbyterian Minister.” When he was thirteen, Jackson and his brothers joined the patriotic cause and volunteered to fight the British. His oldest brother Hugh died of heat stroke following the Battle of Stono Ferry in 1779. ” “In 1781, Jackson and his brother Robert were captured. After their capture, a British officer slashed Jackson with his sword because he refused to polish his boots. He and his brother Robert were taken prisoner-of-war and both contracted smallpox in prison.” Jackson finally recovered, but his brther died. After he recovered, his mother nursed the sick in the war! She caught cholera an died. This left jackson as an orphan. Jackson decided to do something important with his life, so he became an attorney. Jackson purchased his 1st african american slave named nancy in 1788.

Analizing our opinions on Andrew Jackson bec0ming President:  Andrew saw many of his loved ones die, so since he saw and felt the feeling of sorrow and lonleyness, he can relate to the people of his country that are dying. He majored in law, and ran for president. Now he has a scence of what law & government does and he can relate to his country.

Do the right deed!..Think And Do!

Do the right deed!

Think & Do!

Should we define someone by their actions or their intentions? I think that the way we are brought up as kids tell what kind of actions ans intentions we will make as adults. If your parents teach you that everyone in the world is equal, and that looks don’t matter, well then your going to be a kind person. For example, if a guy gets hit by a car and the driver doesn’t stop to check on the person, but your a witness, what would you do? If you were brought up the right way, and believe that looks don’t matter, then your going to be the type of person to go help that guy who got hit by the car! If you didn’t really have a good childhood and your parents didn’t teach you right from wrong, then your probably going to be known as the enemy. Now back to my point, if you were brought up the right way, your intentions come first because thats what you’ve learned to do. Ifyou havn’t really learned much of anything in life then your just going to do it, you won’t even think before you act! My opinion is that even if you’ve learned what the right thing to do is, depending on the situation, you should use your head before you act, then do an act of kindness. Making desisions in life aren’t easy to do but when the time comes, you’ll kno just what to do!

Freedom

I took  a survey this week, and it was about what the american flag symbolized. I asked 15 people what they thought it symbolized and the answers were simular. I think that the american flag symbolizes our freedom in the usa. Most of the people in the survey agreed with me that the flag symbolizes american freedom and others said that it symbolized american rights. The American Flag is the symbol of the United States Of America.

Translated History

My class and I just learned about the forgotten war of 1812.

We learned about a man named Francis Scott Key .

He watched the battle in Baltimore. When the Americans won, he started to write a poem.

That poem is known as our national anthem today, The Star Spangled Banner!

Alot of people probably have heard or sung this anthem,

but you are unsure of what it actually means.

So I’m going to translate the 1st verse for you!…..Here comes

the real 1st verse …..then I’ll translate it.

 Star Spangled Banner

Oh, say, can you see, by the dawn’s early light,
What so proudly we hailed at the twilight’s last gleaming?
Whose broad stripes and bright stars, thru the perilous fight,
O’er the ramparts we watched, were so gallantly streaming?
And the rockets’ red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there.
O say, does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave?

Translated Star Bangled Banner

You can see the sunlight in the early morning.

What so proudly we cheered, from the sunset to nightfall.

Whose great stripes and bright stars, thru the risky fight.

Over the earth we watched, were so bravely flowing.

And the rockets red glow, the bombs flying in air.

Shown that our flag was still alive.

O say does that star material flag, still flows.

Over the land of the free, and the home of the brave.

1 Lady, 1 Painting……..

george

Dolly Madison secured her place as a legendary figure in history after the war in 1812. When the british were coming to tortch the White House, Dolly thought of the most precious possesion. That was the George Washington Portrait. She saved the painting seconds before the house was torched. She rode away in her carrage. You could see the flames miles away. Dolly is known mostly for saving the portrait. Also, she was the first Lady. Dolly played a huge role in her husbands life. She played the political role in his life. To this day, Everyone thanks Dolly for doing her part in the war of 1812.  Dolly always dressed in vibrant colors and was the one to throw the parties.                                 dollyhttp://www.whitehousehistory.org/04/subs/04_b_1812.html

What do You consider a symbol?

What Do You Consider a Symbol?

flag

I believe that we create symbols to leave people with some kind of image in our heads. Yes, symbols are suppost to represent something but if you weren’t able to see an image of a symbol then I’m guessing that it wouldn’t really mean anything to you. Seeing a symbol is so much better then someone saying it out loud. Dont you think? We often use symbols to show the difference in the world. Symbols are created to help people understand the meanings of certain things in life. It’s a fact that if you use images, the meaning of the image will stay in your head longer than if you were to write a word on paper. A symbol that i think is very important would be the American Flag. It represents our nation. The United States Of America. I think it also symbolizes our freedom in the U.S. Its considered a symbol because it also has 50 stars on it, they represent the 50 states in the U.S. What do You consider a symbol?

A Hero= Anyone can be a hero no matter who or what they are. They believe in themselves and care for others.

Today, my hero is my mom. Shes an average person living her life, and she believes in everything she does. She cares for me every day. She helps me when im hurt, or when i want to try new things. I appreciate it alot because she comes to all my school events and all my softball games. On top of all that, she has her own life with a job. Well, I think thats pretty amazing for one person to do all on her own time!….As you can see, she really cares for me, shes my hero!BelieveButterflyfortile

GOing Green

I would love to learn more about going green. Not only is it good for people to do, its good for our planet too! I visited adamf ’s blog an i found an article about going green. It’s as simple as recycling, doing things like that. Try to stop littering and polluting our worls. If we do this, then little by little each day, we can make our world a much better place to live in. What do you think about this? Feel free to comment on my blog to tell me any of your thoughts about this topic! I belive that this a very important issue that we all need to deal with!!!
