Dolley Madison’s Brave Act!

If you new your house was going to be attack would you evacuate rite away or would you save a painting?  To me that’s a very big question I would probably just say leave and many people now would too. In the war of 1812 Dolley Madison the first lady got a call from her husband James Madison the president telling her to leave!. Dolley did a very strange and brave act before she would leave she went to save a painting of George Washington. The painting was painted by an artist named Gilbert Stuart. This cost $800 it was  purchased by the government. Today our reaction to that call would probably run and run far away as possible to be safe. At the time Dolley cared more about saving the painting than her live being in danger. When the art was savely on its way with them Dolley and the residents left the town. To me that is a very courageous and brave act she made.!

Have you ever thought  why do we even have symbols? What do are there purpose? Well I never thought about we even have symbols or how they even come up. In class we started talking about how symbols are created and I started to think and i came up with, they come up by something that inspires you. Why we have symbols is because if you see an object and it reminds you of something else like symbolizes. In other words the symbol links to other things that remind you of it.We could see a star and think of our American flag, a snowflake reminds you of winter.
