Do you know the laws you live by?
There are many amendments in the constitution that I didn’t of but, one of them stood out at me it said that excessive fines and bills are prohibited as well as well as cruel and unusual punishment. This one stood out to me because it says no cruel punishments but then again we have a death penalty in many states. Don’t get me wrong I agree with the death penalty because if you murder someone, shouldn’t you deserve the same? So wouldn’t having the death penalty go against the amendments in our own constitution. The fines you get for littering and speeding or something else like that those I think are reasonable fines but I don’t think that they should go anything above like 500 dollars or close to that.I was pretty surprised by this amendment and it made me look at all the other laws and rights in the constitution to see what else I didn’t know about.
