Could you imagine being trapped underground for 69 days?! I deffinetly couldnt. But the Chilean miners have experienced it. There were 33 miners in the mine and all were saved. The rescue costed $20 million!! Crazy, right? The collapse happened on August 5th. Food and water were sent to the miners through a hole drilled in the ground.
If I were trapped underground, I would try to make friends with the people I was with. It ought to be pretty boring under there. I can see why they would need to send a pshycologist underground before the miners came up. Once I got out, I think that I would run home (to avoid the press) and spend time with my family.

Dear Carolyn,
Can you image being stuck down there all that time? It must have taken a lot of mental toughness to endure that. I heard that they used singing as a way to pass the time. Did you hear anything about that?
