Strict vs. Loose.(:
Should the Bank of the united States be loose or strict construction?
There are many ways you could look at this. Strict construction means that the Bank can only make decisions based on the rules in the Constitution and cannot bend the laws in any way, shape or form. A loose construction basically means that the Bank can make reasonable choices and not have to worry so much about the rules in the constitution.
What is the elastic clause?
a statement in the U.S. Constitution (Article I, Section 8) grantingCongress the power to pass all laws necessary and proper forcarrying out the enumerated list of powers.
So, do you think that the bank should be loose or strict construction?
I think that the bank should be a loose construction because if they need to make a necessary change to benefit the bank, they can and won’t have to worry about what it says in the constitution as much as they would if the construction is strict.
What do YOU, the readers, think the construction should be? Leave me a comment!
