    star spangled banner

The following will be my depiction of the Star Spangled Banner’s first verse in easier to understand words and phrases.

This is the actual Star Spangled Banner:

Oh, say can you see by the dawn’s early light
What so proudly we hailed at the twilight’s last gleaming?
Whose broad stripes and bright stars thru the perilous fight,
O’er the ramparts we watched were so gallantly streaming?
And the rocket’s red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there.
Oh, say does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave?

!!!There are other verses, but I’ll only be working with the first!!!

Can you see by the early morning’s light

How proudly we cheered at the dawns last shining

Whose vast stripes and bright stars through the dangerous fight,

Over the land we watched were so spiritedly flowing

And the rockets’ red shine, the bombs exploding in air,

Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there

Say does that Star-Spangled Banner still wave

Over the land of the free and the home of the brave?
