Andrew Jackson was a smart, strong, brave, hot-tempered, and of course a popular man.  But will he make a good president? We think he would be a good president mainly for his popularity. He was a well-known man, everyone liked him, and he was also very kind. Along with his popularity, Jackson was a lawyer,  a Major General in the military, and also was the Governor of new Florida Territory.  Because of these things, this is what created him to be very well-known. Andrew Jackson also knows how to handle difficult situations because he was an orphan at a young age. He knew how to adapt to his surroundings so that will help him  in his presidency if there is any problem. Because of him being an orphan he was shipped around from relative to relative so he knew how to handle that very well also. The only major flaw he really had was his hot temper, but we think he will set that aside and become a very goodpresident.  -Ideas contributed by Christian G and Chris R

I believe that we should judge people by there intentions. I think this because a good person can do something bad but there intentions were good. For example a teacher can be strict and yell at a student to do their homework because they want the student to succeed in the class which is good intention but mean actions. Also I believe that a person should have consequences when they are in high school if they break the law. I think this because this is when they are becoming young adults and understand that there are consequences if you break a law.

I took a poll about what people think the American Flag symbolizes. I asked 15 people people, 5 from 3 different generations. Here are my results.

The Star Spangled Banner

Oh say, can you see, by the dawn’s early light,
What so proudly we hailed at the twilight’s last gleaming?
Whose broad stripes and bright stars, thru the perilous fight,
O’er the ramparts we watched, were so gallantly streaming?
And the rockets’ red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there.

The battle of Detriot wasn’t much of a battle there were no shots  fired and the Americans just surrendered. Hull was supposed to be the commander to hold up the British but he didn’t. 2,000 soldiers just surrenedered.Isaac Brock was the British commander for this surrender and he was considered a hero to his other pupil and to Americans he was a notorious.

                     I think we need symbols because it represents something and some things represent something different than it would to another person. Such as a person like Superman, one person might see him as being brave and another person might see him as being strong. I think we create symbols because of something that happened in the past.I think the American Flag would be considered a symbol because it represents something to Americans such as freedom. Also other people from different countries can think it means a symbol of something bad. Also the stripes on the American Flag represents the 13 colonies. The Stars on the American Flag represent the 50 states in The United States of America.

            My Passion is baseball. I am Passionate about baseball because it completes me. If there was no baseball i don’t know what I would do. I have been playing for 9 years. The only thing that can stop me from playing baseball is bad grades in school. I can always find time to play baseball. I want to hit a homerun in Junoirs, which is a league with a bigger feild then I used to play on. It will be my second year in Junoirs this season coming up. Im hoping to continue playing baseball and play for the highschool team.

One of my favorites interests is baseball. I am currently play for the wallingford panthers. I love baseball and I play it everyday. I play shortstop for my team and i am the number 4 batter “clean up.” I am working on my pitching but i think i am going to stick with playing shortstop. I’ve been playing baseball for 8 years now. I am going to keep playing baseball everytime i have a chance to. 

A perfect classroom to me is a nice teacher desks,whiteboard,and pencil sharperner.
