Chris…. 'Nuff Said

     Last week our class had an interesting task. We had to pretend that we crash landed on a planet and all of our leaders died. Since our leaders died, we had to make new rules that would guide us through our civilization for our kids and their kids. In this essay I am going to tell you how our process was similar and different to the process of our country making the Constitution.

When we were writing our rules, we had the same gender of people at our conference or meeting. At the Constitutional Convention, the only delegates were men. Back then, women were not thought of as important to society. Things have changed since then! In our group there were not any girls in our group because it was the way we just sat down. Our teacher just said that those were our groups. Not having girls in our group was just a coincidence. But still, it was still similar to the Constitutional Convention. Women would have been a problem in both cases because when you ring a girl into things, everything gets interesting and it would have been hassle.

I was researching the U.S Constitution and I found out that the delegates appointed one man as a President to watch over everything. That man that they appointed was George Washington. He was the perfect man for the job because he led the rebel army against the British and won, so he was a great leader. We, on the contrary, did not have one  person be a leader. I guess you could said that our group was the leader because everyone watched over everything and everyone contributed equally. This helped us because if we did appoint a leader then eventually, the rest of the group would have turned on the leader.

     In the Constitution, the whole idea for the government is to have the people vote for the people who run the government and not have one person be too powerful. The delegates wanted to have a democratic system of government. They lived far too long with the king oppressing them and they couldn’t live that way any longer. Our group had the same idea for our civilization. America’s government is working well today and we wanted to have the same type if successful government in our civilization. I think, in the long run, that the system of law will work out for our country.

     George Washington and his fellow delegates set up the Constitution with a federal government and each state has its own government. The federal government runs the country and decides the laws for the country. The state government does the same thing, except for the state. In our rule list, there was one government only. This happened on account of the fact that the only people that lived there were the people who crashed and nobody established individual states or colonies. Eventually, we will but for now we will stick with one government we have and eventually have states governments like the U.S Constitution was made.

     In conclusion, there are many things that we can compare and contrast about our civilization and the U.S. Also, how our countries rules were made. We basically were made on the same principles that the U.S were made on. So, as you can see, the crash landed kids will be just fine and I’m sure that is what the delegates said at the convention after the Constitution was written. We will survive many years because were have a similar government to the U.S, but there are differences. Hopefully these differences will be for the best.
