The War Hawks

So my teacher asked to write a blog on something we read about and did we think the text book did a good job or not. I think that the Chapter did not do such a good job at explaining what the war Hawks were. The website that I used told me they wanted to declare war with the British because they were sacrificing the honor of America. If they didn’t declare war and was much more detailed about it then in our book. The text book also doesn’t include the new congress met for the first time in 1811 which was before the war hawks had any influence on the cours the congressional debate. I wouldn’t change the text book because it has some of the data and if it was given more it would be a Chapter long. To make the war Hawks more interesting I would put a picture of them and information on what happened after they decided to declare war. Ft_McHenry_bombardment_1814.jpg

The Star Spangled Banner (translation)

Posted on March 4th, 2011 in Uncategorized by edwardr

I am translating the Star SpangledBbanner for a class assignment. In 1812 we were fighting the British because they were destroying American merchants taking our people and sailors to fight for the British because they thought that they were run away british solidiers.

America didn’t like this so they declared war against the British. There was a battle called the Battle of Fort Mc Henry that could of changed the war for america for better or for worse. It was a battle where America was defending off British ships from getting to Baltimore. If the British succeeded - the war could of turned out alot worse for America.

Can you see it in the morning – the flag that we honord at the last light of the day.The strong flag that survives there the strong fight we watch the rockets in the air.  The rockets soared threw the air with the bombs blowing up in the air showed us that the flag wouldn’t fall. The flag still waves in the air. The land where we are free from Britian and where the brave live free.

Did you know that during the War of 1812 Francis Scott Key wrote a poem The Star Spangled Banner about the attack on Fort McHenry by the Btirish Naval ships in Chesapeake Bay and later on it was turned into a song which is now our National Anthem.

A great leader … Coach Belichick

I think that the Coach of the New England Patriots is a great leader Bill Belichick. He is respected and trusted by his players . He communicates really good so that they understand and get the right plays done in order to win. He is confident and that shows on the field and doesn’t second guess the play he calls. They have won the SuperBowl and continue to play well and lead in their sport all by his leadership.

Great leaders make history or history makes them…

Posted on January 30th, 2011 in Uncategorized by edwardr

I think that great leaders make history…think about it…they have the ability and the skills to be apart from all of us. Strength, wisdom, confidence to take on great things. Not everyone is born or can be a leader. Some are weak and don’t have the strength to finish what they started. Pressure can build up and defeat them. Look at our Presidents and what they did and died for…Lincon and Kennedy. Martin Luther King and what he did…not everyone is a leader in my opinion.

George Washington and the cherry tree

No because we have no proof of him every cutting the tree or telling the truth even if it was some what true the rumor would be changed over time because different generations think different things in 100 years they will probably change. If we had any proof of this or writing of it i would believe it and say that it was true.

navy ship

This is one of the US naval ships called ivan S. abrams the older ship.

newer naval ship.

The differences between the ships are the older ship is made out of a weaker metal and the newer ship looks allot more armed with weapons then the first ship. The newer ship is most likely faster because they probable increased speed of there engines over the years. The newer ship has allot more antennas so they probable have better connection to auther ships. The new ship has better radars so they could probably find out enimes location better then the older ships.

the best question in the world?

Posted on December 22nd, 2010 in Uncategorized by edwardr

What would happen if no one used there creative beast would the world be different. I think the world will be very different if no one used there creative beast because there creative beast makes them explore the world. If everyone didn’t explore things and test them we wouldn’t have electricity and houses or even live in America because no one would have wanted to discover it. Are creative beasts make the world change the changes can be good and bad but if the world never changes then we wont be able to do different things in the future.

The Supreme Court is located in Washington D.C. It has columns in the front that look like  the columns in Greek Architect. The Supreme Court of the United States is the highest judicial court in the United States. Some people call it the high court. The people appointed stay until they die or do something really wrong to be removed.

First Ten Amendments …Bill of Rights

Posted on December 1st, 2010 in Uncategorized by edwardr

So whats the big deal about the Bill of rights…well…The Bill of Rights is the first ten amendments to the Constitution. People complained that it did not do enough to protect the rights of individual people.Madison–was persuaded by Jefferson to draw up the amendments that would satisfy anyone who felt the Constitution was incomplete without human rights protections.
The Bill of Rights today provides us fair treatment, equal opportunities, and the freedoms protected by our Constitution. We can speak freely and bear arms if we choose to…it’s that simple.
