Should we define someone by their actions or their intentions? I think we should define people by their intentions because it’s the right thing to do. Defining someone by their intentions might be hard sometimes, especially if you don’t like the person. A strong example of this is: You sneek out at night to go do something bad with your friend and you fall of your bike and get badly hurt.
Your friend then calls your parents for help even though he knows that you’ll get in trouble for sneaking out. His intentions are to help, but his actions get you into trouble. Now your mad for being in trouble instead of grateful that your friend helped you. The right thing would be to judge him by his intentions and be happy that he helped you instead of leaving you on the ground bleeding and writhing in pain. You should consider that person a good friend.
Relationships
I think that most relationships with people are helpful even if it ends up negative. If the relationship wasn’t good, it would end. I think that if you have a good relationship with somone it will help you make new relationships with other people. An example of this is: You make a new friend and you end up hating eachother. Then you know thats not the right person for you, and you pick different types of friends. If you end up liking the person and having lots of things in common, you know that you should be friends with other people like them. Then this helps you make lots of friends and a better social life.
Symbolization
We create symbols to represent things that are important to us. We have symbols that represent things like strength, peace, freedom and love. People need symbols to motivate them because they have alot more of an impact than words do. The American Flag is considered a very important symbol. It symbolizes freedom and strength. I think that the American Flag has been called a “living symbol” because it lives on even after the revolutionary war, where it was a very important symbol to motivate the patriots. To me, the American Flag symbolizes the men that fought and died to make the country free. If it wasn’t for them we would still be ruled by the British.
