1. In what ways did stereotypes influence European/African relationships?

Stereotypes made the Europeans think that African Americans were useless, and good for nothing, so the put them to work in there  fields so they couldnt screw up anything major, like food, or handleing money, and certainly not there children. If African Americans weren’t stereotyped as slaves, or worthless, the Europeans, probably wouldn’t have treated them so bad.
2. How do you think stereotypes influence relationships today, (please give at least two examples in your answer)?

Some people today still do stereotype people as dumb, slow, or useless, like the Euoropeans thought taht African Americans were. Some of the stereotypes today are that blondes are dumb ( No offense, I myself am blonde), but that stereotype is usually based on women, and that gives them less of a chance to help the economy, because they have less of a chance to be elected for anything. Another stereotype that is used today, is that african american, usually men, are criminals, and that doesn’t give them a fair chance at anything. Getting a job, is harder for them, or just buying something without being suspiciously watched the whole time, is hard.
3. Explain at least two ways that you can help stop the continuation of stereotypes in your society.

One way I can stop the continuation, is to not do it myself, I’m not saying, that I do it, because I don’t. Stereotyping isn’t cool. If someone of a different race can’t get a job in your work field, because of there race, then why should the boss be able to run a company. Another way I can stop this problem, is try my best to inform people, that races shouldn’t make someone less of a person, just because they are a different color doesn’t mean that they aren’t human.
4. Lastly, in your opinion, do you think that stereotypes will always be apart of society, why or why not?

I think they will, because as long as there is more then five people who stereotype people, stereotyping people, will continue to thrive, weather it’s through children, or speeches, and even rumors. I don’t think stereotyping will ever be stopped, because I think there will always be somebody who thinks that they are better then somebody, because they are of a different race

Molding And You

Past experiences can effect the future. Bad experiences can make you not trust anybody, like anybody, or even cause you to go insane. But good causes can make you trust people too much, like people too much, or become insane. Those are just bad outcomes of good and bad experiences. Good experiences can make you trust the right amount of people and keep you sane. Bad experiences can make you not trust the right amount of people and keep you sane. But either way you could have a good outcome or bad outcome, but that’s all up to you.

Star Spangled…WHAT???

Filed under: Uncategorized —— jaked @ 1:41 pm

For most of you you now the words to the song, you can, but you don’t understand the words. So, I am going to translate the Star-Spangled Banner, in modern day language.

Oh, say, can you you see, by the dawn’s early light
What so proudly we hailed at the twilight’s last gleaming?
Whose broad stripes and bright stars, through the perilous fight
O’er the ramparts e watched, were so gallantly streaming?
And the rockets’ red glare the bombs bursting in air,
gave proof through the night that our flag was still there.
O say does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave?

My interpretation:

Can you see in the morning,
We really like to look at our flag in the morning,
Our flag kept it’s stripes and stars through the bad fight,
We watched mounds of shiny dirt,
Bright rockets were flying in the sky, and bombs were exploding,
We could see our flag,
Tell me if our flag is waving or not,
For the free people and the brave people

Bang!……..REJECTED!!!

Filed under: Uncategorized —— jaked @ 9:40 am

The U.S. Constitution aka ‘Old Iron-sides,’ was practically the first victorious navy or army over Britain. After Old Iron-sides deflected and rejected the cannonball it sparked a revolution against the Britain, but not for long, because Britain still took over the ground troops all over the East side of the nation. America, not a formal army could not withstand the attacks, and rades that Britain kept sending like there was no tomorrow. Back to Old Iron-sides, a single cannon shot that could not penetrate the forces of the iron like oak walls of the ship which named the boat and was marked down as the first victory over Britain.

Symbolicios

Filed under: Uncategorized —— jaked @ 1:41 pm

When do we create symbols? We make symbols whenever we have or experience a great memory that left an emotional impression on your life. What I mean by that is whenever something  heart wrenching or spirit lifting, like if a relative dies, or you say your first word can create a symbol.

Why do we create symbols? Or why do people need symbols? I don’t think people don’t need them, but it would make life much more difficult. For example Martin Luther King symbolises Civil rights, along with Gandhi, Jinnah, and Nehru.People need symbols, because we need something to look up to, or to make us figure out who we would like to be like or change our ways. Otherwise we would be lost as to what we wanted to do with our lives.

Why would the American flag be considered a symbol? The American flag would be considered a symbol, because it has represented us through thick and thin, kind of like your closest friend. For example my friend Matt always has my back weather it’s helping me with homework, or helping me try and take over the world, well probably not the taking over the world thing, but the point is we are a great team, just like America and th American flag.

What does the American flag symbolize? The thirteen stripes symblize the original thirteen colonies, the stars stand for each state in America at the time, and the red stands for bloodshed and the white stands for the courage of our country and it’s soldiers.

Building Bikes

Filed under: Uncategorized —— jaked @ 9:34 am

My passion is building bikes. I like to do it, because I accomplish something and have something to show for it. like you can say,” I just ate 5 tacos!” but you wouldn’t have anything to show for it, but if you say,” I just finished building my bike!” you have a bike to show for it. Also it uses p my spare time so I’m not on Facebook 24/7. I’ve never built a car, nd I would like to try that , because it’s much more challenging then building a bike, and it’s a much bigger accomplishment, then building a bike. Nothing gets me more excited then a BMX race, because there are hills, turns, jumps, and crashes. Also if my passion or hobby of building bikes takes off, I can sell bikes for a pretty big profit, and the more bikes I make, the more I can sell. The more I sell the more tools and friends I can hire. Then eventually get our own logo, or brand of bikes, which will make a great profit in the future.

Today’s the Anniversery of 9/11

Filed under: Uncategorized —— jaked @ 9:50 am

Today marks eight years since the terrorist attacking the World Trade Center. It was a tragic event in which Al-Queda  attacked, took over, and crashed an airplain in to the World Trade Center. If you want to see a video of it go to  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kv4s3fn8jDc. That started a national frenzy, where every one was worried that they were nxt, but America has been safe so far.
