SELFISH OR CHARITABLE?

When Thomas Jefferson bought the Louisiana Territory do you think that was was a fair thing to do to the people even though they had no money? I do feel that Thomas Jefferson was thinking about the people and thought that he got a great deal on the land that he purchased. I do think that with an offer that good for soo much land, it was extremely hard to pass up, therefore i do side with him with buying the land. He probly felt he was going to be able to pay the fee back right away. Buying the land gave the people more place to live and trade and they got the Mississippi River for many uses. I think that Thomas Jefferson streched what the elastic clause had to say, but he still followed the constitution. When I was younger, I had to get my dad a Christmas present so I went shopping for my mom. I went into a store and picked out a wallet. This wallet was 50 dollars, and I didn’t have that much money at the time. I feel in love with the wallet for him and I wanted to give it to my dad so i had to beg my mom to buy it and i told her I’d pay it back. It took me about 3 years to pay her back! My dad ended up loving it and he benifit from it just like the people that lived in the louisiana territory. This shows that sometimes when you really want something, you will find a way to get it. This helps me understand how Thomas Jefferson felt when he was getting the offer.
