This is an update of a post…Me Teaching… This Should be Interesting

In the beggining of the year, the class had to write a post about what they would do if they could be a teacher for a day. At that time I answered, “ I wouldn’t be so strict and I’d be more understanding of what students are going throught.” I still stick by what i said before, but i have more to add. If i was a teacher, I wouldn’t judge anybody. Sure it’s okay to have an opinion of a person, but i feel teachers don’t just have an opinion, they make it clear whether they do or don’t like you. If  I’m ever a teacher, i would strictly grade my students on how well they are doing in my class, not who they hang out with or whether they talk in class. If a student wants to talk and another does too, it’s their choice, not the teachers. As long as it’s quitely I would allow it. I feel now thought, the thing teachers do the most, is judge. Children are not in school for advice about who they should or shouldn’t hang out with. If somebody wants to hang out with somebody, they will! I feel now, if a teacher doesn’t like one person that someone hangs out with, they automanically “dumb-down” anyone that hangs out with the person that’s not liked. I feel this is wrong on the teachers part and they should strictly focus on the work.

PERRY’S VICTORY

If I wrote the section “Perry’s Victory” in my history book i would have definatly elaborated more on the challenges Oliver Perry faced during battle. The book just states, that “the battle lasted for more than three hours and resulted in heavy casualities for both sides.” After looking into some of the troubles Oliver Perry went through i found out that things started going wrong even before he set off, which the book didn’t mention. Before he set off to war, Perry found out there was a shortage in supplies and men. During the war, some heavy casualties were, on the British ships, most of the senior officers were wounded or killed. I think that the book should have written more detail about the war because without it, the reader can’t really understand what the people were going through.
