The treaty of Ghent was the doornail that was finished the war of 1812 between the United States and Great Britain. The textbook describes this as ” a peace agreement that neither the Federalists nor Jackson knew about was the Treaty of Ghent, signed in Belgium on December 24, 1814. After months of frustrating negotiations, U.S and British diplomats finally decided to end the war.” I do not think that, that was a very good description of it. I do not like it because it is to general, and wasn’t very specific. The textbook left out a lot of information, for example: why was the treaty named “Ghent?” What is Ghent, I have no idea. I also would like to know how long did it take for the U.S to find out about it? The textbook included no time period for that. I would have included that the treaty is named the treaty of Ghent because it was signed in the country Belgium which back then was called Ghent. That information helps me understand the name and setting of the treaty. I also would include that because of slow transportation, it took people in America several weeks to know that Britain wanted a peace treaty. This helps me interpret how transportation was back then. If I was the editor some additional information I would add is that after the treaty was signed, the Battle of New Orleans happened in 1815. I would have included that to show readers how the treaty kind of had no effect on the two countries because after they signed it the two countries had another war. Things I would have changed in the book is how they don’t go into much detail about most things, it is all short quick things about the topic. I would add more detail to intrigue the readers. I would have also added pictures because the textbook had none. Here are pictures I would have added:.
In 1891 a physical education instructor named James Naismith created a game called basketball. James Naismith was born in Ontario Canada and went to McGill University and Presbyterian College in Montreal before he graduated and became employed at Springfield College in Springfield Massachusetts. While James worked there he and another teacher Luther Halsey Gulik created an indoor sport of basketball which now today is played widely around the World. This international sport started with just one simple idea, and grew.
How do you interpret this quote? Do great leaders make history? Or does history make great leaders?” Personally I think that that leaders make history. I think this because history isn’t history until someone makes it. George Washington wasn’t made a leader by history. He made history by being a great leader. I think history can not make leaders, and that is my interpretation of the quote.

Martin Luther King was a great person, friend, and leader. As a leader he was brave, loyal, and very determined. Martin Luther King was brave everyday because he was fighting for the blacks and whites to be together which a lot of people didn’t want. Dr. King was loyal because he didn’t just abandon all of the dark skinned people that needed him. He stayed with them until they got what they wanted. He was determined too because he always stayed focused and never quit. Martin Luther King was a great leader to many people.
A leader needs to be brave, smart, and strong. These are good characteristics that a leader needs because a leader needs to make smart decisions, take risks, and know what he/she is doing. I think that leaders are made. No one is born a leader. They have to work at it. Did Barack Obama just wake up one day, and know that he would be president one day? No, he kept working at it. I am a leader in my life, when people need me to be. I follow leaders all the time. They are called my parents. I am kind of forced to do what they say. Most of the time I try to be my own leader and follow myself because it is a good way to stay out of trouble. I think that anyone can be a leader, you just have to put in the time, and the effort. If you really want to be a leader, then you should show that, and prove that you can be one. I think that I am a leader when I need to be. Like if my younger brother is doing something wrong, I can be a leader to him and try to get him on the right path. I think that my strongest ability as a leader is not giving up. One thing that might stand in my way is not believing in myself enough. These are my opinions and thoughts on leaders.
In school, we have been doing a significant object unit. I think that it has gone pretty well. When writing the story though, it was a little challenging because we kept making the story to fictional. Another challenge we had was finding an object for George Washington’s farewell address. At first we thought that we had to focus on the address itself. But then we realized that we needed to look at the story behind the address and focus on what happened while writing it.
My grandma Susan Jordan was a great person. She was very religious and went to church every Sunday. On palm Sunday after my family came home from church, we noticed she wasn’t there. We assumed that she went to the eight o’clock mass. So, we went to go ask her to dinner. My dad and my older brother went to her house and my mom, younger brother and I went home. When they went to ask her they found out that my grandma died. We were all sad because my family was really close with her. After the funeral and wake, went to her house a lot after that because we had to clean it up and get it ready to be sold, it took a long time. One table in the living room were lighthouses statues like mine above. There was 25 lighthouses. Our family is big, there ars 12 grandchildren and 9 adults for a total of 21 of us. Luckily each member in my family got one to remember my grandma by because she loved the beach. Mine is kept in my room, and will stay one of the many memories of my grandma.

On March 27 1794, the Naval Act was passed by the United States Congress. The ships that were used back then are different and similar to the ships that we use in the Navy today. The two ships I am comparing are the USS Constitution, and the USS Wasp Differences:
The best question in the world made me think… “what would happen if… “Well, here is my best question in the world… ARE YOU READY FOR IT! What would happen if kids didn’t get an education? Well, kids probably wouldn’t know how to get by in life, they would have no knowledge or skills to help them out. I know everyone hates school, but in the long run it pays off. Comment on what you think would happen.
