Textbook&Websites. The Hartford Convention.
Posted in Uncategorized on March 7, 2011 by jessicarIn Social Studies class, we sometimes use a text book. Probably the same old boring textbook as many other people use. We had to pick a section from the textbook. The part I picked was about how the Federalists from New England had to go to the Hartford Convention, that’s pretty much all the book said. Then, I had to research some information online and found out that the Hartford Convention was when they considered the problems of New England in the War of 1812 I learned that all this took place on December 15, 1814 up until January 1815. The textbook didn’t do a good job on this section. There wasn’t one thing that had me interested. Personally, I think the computer and websites that I look at did a much better because they included pictures, told me about the war of 1812, what the Hartford Convention was and so much more. For example, the website that I’m on right now says that, the convention number was 26 delegates; who were sent by the legislatures from Connecticut, Rhode Island, and Massachusetts. That’s what the website that I’m on now says. The website is, ” http://www.barefootsworld.net/hartford.html” The textbook should have had alot more imformation and pictures. It was pretty boring and the author definatly didn’t make it interesting. The author should add more pictures and tell a little bit more of why they had The Hartford Convention and much more.
