As the British came to burn down the white house she ordered a staff member in the building to break the frame of George Washington photo of take the photo and save it for the use later on. As she took it out and escaped with it the British came to the white house and burned it down. They just barly made it out of the white house before the red coats came to Washington and first burned the  congress then at 10 30 they went to the white Washington and burned down the first.
