The question i have received from my teacher is, “If you had the opportunity to ‘teach’ a class of teachers for one day, what would you teach them that would help them ‘teach’ middle school better?”
My response to that question would start off with how some teachers use books or give you lectures about a certain topic of a subject. I strongly believe that those types of things are very boring and will not help them learn that topic it will only teach them how to sleep even more. Second of all, i cant except the fact that some teachers think that tests are a way of telling if that person has fully succeeded in that certain topic. Personally I believe that tests just pressure people. You get that feeling that if you do bad on the test you will get bad grade and you also think ” oh my, what if I am the only person in the class that gets a low grade”. I think that tests are wrong and they shouldn’tbe used in school. Finally i would like to conclude with the fact that teachers should be using their abilities to try their best not to make the kids “die of boredom“. They should be doing fun activities such as this blog, which was given to me by my teacher, things that literaly MAKE the students want to learn about that topic that they are teaching. I’m JOE B and this is my opinion on what teachers should do in school.

Yes I agree! the teachers do get boring after a while of just talking, and talking…especially when we have to take notes!

I agree some of the kids already know the curriculum and it is incredibly boring listening to teacher take 2 days to explain that you understood after 10 min.

Dear Joe,
I like your ideas about A Day as a Teacher. With so many opportunities to incorporate technology in the classroom, I think teachers are missing out if they don’t tap into it and ultimately… so are their students.
I use our classroom blog as a teaching tool. We often have students contributing information and that makes learning more fun. Including videos and skyping with experts are two other ways to bring learning to life. It sounds like you have an excellent teacher, which is great!
What are some examples you have seen of good lessons? What made them memorable?
My class is in the blogging challenge like your class. We are a third grade class in California. Here is a link to our class blog if you want to visit and maybe leave a comment! Be sure to mention who your teacher is! ☺
