The battle of lake Erie wasn’t a part of the war of 1812, but the chapter was about the war of 1812. The text book did a decent job at covering it, and the author left some stuff out. Like how the British were out numbered with the United States armed 9 ships and the British with 6. To make the setion more interesting I would have gone more in depth with the battle.
Do great leaders make history or does history make great leaders? I think history makes great leaders. Most of the great leaders owe a thanks to history. For an example some of the presdents became great leaders because of the battle they one.
The person I choose to be a good leader was Maya Moore from the Uconn Huskies girls basketball team. I think she is a leader because she is strong, brave, and smart. Maya is strong because she isn’t afraid to fight for what she believes in. She is brave becuase she takes risks for her team mates. These smart risks though, ones that will lead her team to victory.
What does it take to be a leader? You have to be courageous, smart, and trustworthy. You aren’t born with these characteristics you are made with them. That’s why anyone can be a leader. I am a leader in basketball. I am the captions so I have to be one. I was following a leader last year when Katie was a captain. I am not usually a leader I am more of a follower and when I find stuff that isn’t working or is wrong then I say something. when I am a leader I do what is best for everyone, and put them first. sometimes I don’t know what to do so that’s why I am not always a leader.
These flowers are from my aunt’s wedding. This is my significant object. A significant object is an important object to a person. This is important to me because when she tossed the flowers in the air I was the one who ended up with them. They are so important that when my hamster died after we buried him I put one of the flowers on his grave. If you go sweep off the snow you can sill see the purple flower.
June 17 2011 is the last day of school. It may not be for some people reading but it is for where I live. I chose this date because I am in eighth grade so after this year I am going to high school.
original navy ship from 1794
If you didn’t notice but these links lead you to different websites that show you two different ships. Their differences are the older one doesn’t provide platforms for missiles. The original has sails and is made of wood, and they weren’t as large as the newer ones. They are similar because they both were part of the navy for the United States. They both have layered floors, and were used to fight for the United States in the water.
George Washington didn’t cut down his fathers cherry tree. The whole story and the famous line “I cannot tell a lie, I did it with my little hatchet,” was a myth. They were trying to send a message to the people that George Washington doesn’t tell a lie. He is trustworthy but also a liar, and so is the author that wrote the book about it because it wasn’t true. He is a trustworthy man but a liar when it comes to cutting down his father’s cherry tree.
What would happen if all the animals in the world became extinct? If they became extinct then there would be no meat left in the world, unless we save the meat from after they die. We would eventually be forced to become vegetarians. This can be bad for the later generations. This would be bad because they wouldn’t get very much protein or iron.

I went to BEFUNKY and changed a picture that kind of looked like rain. Befunky can take an interesting picture and change it to make it more interesting.
