Meele at Sea…

Published by under Uncategorized

During the War of 1812,  a ship called the U.S.S. Constitution was used during battle; at sea of course.  On August 2ndof 1812, it left Boston with many sailors looking for a fight with the British.  On August 18, they found a British ship called the HMS Guerriere.  The European ship didn’t have any powerful ammo except the crew on the ship, who are known for the victories in ship-to-ship combat.  When the British attacked the Americans, they didn’t take much damage,  the Americans shot back with only a few guns and not much damage was received for the British either.  The brawl went on for a day or 2, and then the  Constitution fired their guns and hit the British with great accuracy.  After taking the hits, the Guerriere gave up and sank.  The European survivors were then turned into prisoners for the Americans.  And that was the America’s first victory in the War of 1812.

I was supposed to use an image for this post, but the computer is not cooperating.  So, the website I used for my research was this one.  I was going to use the picture in the corner for this post, so pretend that it’s on here…if you want to…
