If you were in charge, what rules would you make about who could become an American?

As it is now, I would keep it so that you need your necessary documents with you, such as your medical or history records, to make sure you weren’t a terrorist or a person fleeing because of illegal issues. That way there wouldn’t be trouble.

My second rule would be that your have to show basic knowledge of reading and writing. Even at a 2nd grade level would be acceptable. Just some sort of understanding.

My third rule would be that you would have to pass a medical test to be sure you didn’t have any diseases or parasites that could spread to the other citizens that currently live in the U.S.

Should all new immigrants know how to speak English?

Well, not fully, but they should have a simple knowledge of the language. That way, the immigrants wouldn’t become confused in their new country, and also so they can just get to their new home easily. They don’t have to be extremely inept at the language, meaning they don’t have to write books in the language, just have a basic knowledge.

After doing the interviews for the Library of Congress, we also got some pictures. In this post, I’m going to show some pictures and then explain what’s going on in them. Kinda a behind-the-scenes type thing.

Just one of many shots of before the whole filming started. Setting up and testing the lights. I think they’re working just fine. Ow, my eyes.

A peek into room 305, where our interview was going to take place. More set up is going on.

The dreaded ELEVATOR. Where Mr. Bogush spent most of his day, crammed in with us. Kinda scary. I think we surpassed the capacity limit in that thing…

The last group the be interviewed. Me and my friend Sam are sitting right near the light. Man, did I mention how much it hurt my eyes? I’m the closest to the horrible light; Sam’s in the red. Actually, the man in black was telling us to switch places. Then we were confused for each other. XD

Down in the library, where they got some last shots of us ‘logging in’ sites to archive. Such a cool shot, I think. I love the angle on this one.

Last ‘take-away’ questions for us. Not many people really answered them, but the ones who did (including me) had some quite interesting answers.

Last picture for today. A nice shot of the huge, professional camera. It must be very expensive to replace, not to mention heavy. Don’t break it!

How do experiences in a relationship mold your future decisions and relationships with others?

My question of today. A really good one, too, if you ask me. Well, anyways, I think that your relationships now affect your future decisions in however way the relationship is to you. Say, if you were in a negative relationship, then stayed in it, your future decisions would be negative and possibly hurt you. On the other hand, a positive relationship would have a positive effect on you. You would be more open, and possibly more inspirable.

One example of a negative relationship effecting your desicions could be that you have a friend who keeps lying to you. You trust that friend, and then find out they’ve been lying to you the whole time. You tend to end up not trusting people as much. That is a negative influence.

Should we judge someone on their actions or their intentions?

That’s my question of the day. I believe that we should judge them on their intentions, rather than their actions. For example, someone could give a person allergic to chocolate the most exquisite chocolate, and not know they had an allergy. The person receiving the gift would be disappointed, but they should say thanks anyway, and appreciate the thought.

Unfortunately, us as humans, because we have human feelings and emotions, we tend to judge people on their actions. It’s a fact. Until we can look deeper and really appreciate the intentions of other people, rather than their actions.

For now, however, only the people who have deeper thinking capabilities can judge people on their intentions.

All in all, I think that it’s childish and unnecessary to judge people at all, and it would be best to erase that quality from our human minds. But, alas, that’s not possible yet, as we aren’t robots, and can’t ‘delete’ qualities and features we despise. That is why we are so enthralled with the idea of robots.

Most people don’t know about the war of 1812. Try asking someone off the street if they know anything about it. It’s forgotten, mostly. During the war, the White House was burned in retaliation of the British’s government building being burnt. President Madison was far away, on horseback, in Virginia. As the building erupted in an orange glow, he saw it from Virginia. That’s how bright it was. People were heartbroken all over in America. General Ross had his revenge.

Just then, as the building burst into flames, the sky tore open and rain fell from the clouds. One of the most powerful hurricanes to hit Washington blew through the capitol, chasing the British troops out of the city and put out the burning buildings. More soliders were killed in the tornado than in the war overall. It was as if burning the capitol caused the wraith of God to attack the flailing British.

Symbols. Why do we create them? We create them when we need a lasting impression on people’s minds through a picture, since a picture’s worth a thousand words. It’s a proven fact that your brain processes pictures up to 80,000 tmes faster than words. Therefore, pictures leave a lasting impression easier then just plain old words.

We need symbols to tack impressionable words to lasting images and to represent people or ideas or groups.

When do people create them? We create them when we need symbols to make a lasting impression and support a cause, or maybe even bring people together. Like, the Great Wall of China was created to prove that the power of China brought them all together and kept evil out.

The American Flag would be considered a symbol since it stands for our freedom and the unity of the states. It was a symbol of hope during wars and even inspired Francis Scott Key to write the poem that became our National Anthem. In fact, the flag is such a powerful symbol that if you held it up in some countries, you would be dead. That’s power right there.

Do you ever think about your passions? Where they will get you in life? I certainly have. My passion is art. Visual art, drawings, musical art, and writing. I want to become an author some day, and one of my major pastimes is drawing in the anime style. I tend to draw my own characters I’ve created, or fan art of the many animes I watch, including Death Note.

I also currently have about 3 stories going, as I write in my spare time. Usually I dream about an idea and write about it as soon as I develop it in my head. I really want to be an author when I grow up, as I feel I’m very creative, and I can write well. I also enjoy L.A. class because of it, but I don’t like grammar all that much. I don’t think anyone does, really. XD

http://lgimages.s3.amazonaws.com/data/imagemanager/9706/writing-2.jpg

I love music, as I play the piano, and I listen to it ALL THE TIME. No joke, I always have my iPod on my person. ALWAYS. I like music because it lets me express my feelings in a way that can’t be judged. There will always be someone who likes what you do, no matter what. And, hey, you might become famous from it. You never know.

In general, I might sound boring, as my passions might not be as unique as the person next to me, but they are what makes up my life and my personality. They, basically, sum me up in a few items. I persue them because they are someting I love to do, no matter what. They will always be in my heart, my mind, and soul, even if I forget about them temporarily. Always.

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2124/2484690148_bb194b4f37.jpg

I mean, like Michelangelo’s David isn’t blocked is it?

Well, anyway, you can also Role-Play in chatrooms, upload art, write comments, and favorite other’s art. Check it out! You can make an account, and it’s free. I have one on there. I won’t say my username, for privacy, but you know who you are on there who are my friends.

Someone living today I think is a hero is Jhonen Vasquez. He’s written a lot of comics, and is nicer than some to his fans. He had to make sacrifices out of his busy life schedule to meet his fans and sign their stuff. He’s also been brave enough to face those crazy fans who want to do some weird stuff… *laugh*

So, have fun reading this really LONG post, and good luck with the snow!
