When you listen to the Star Spangle Banner, do you really know what the heck it’s saying?
For this blog post, we have to say what we think the Star Spangle Banner means; so, here it is:
The Star Spangle Banner:
Oh, say can you see by the dawn’s early light
What so proudly we hailed at the twilight’s last gleaming?
Whose broad stripes and bright stars thru the perilous fight,
O’er the ramparts we watched were so gallantly streaming?
And the rocket’s red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there.
Oh, say does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave?
My Interpretation:
Oh, look over there in the morning horizon,
We are so proud that the fighting is all over,
We see the flag through the fog and smoke
Over the hills we see bravery running
The stream of smoke and fire behind the rocket and the boom from the bombs
From the light of the rockets, we could see that the flag was still there
Oh there the flag still flows
Over the free land and brave.
