Have you ever had a friendship, relationship or whatever, where it didn’t go so well; or maybe it went great?  I have.  Last year I had this friend who went to my school, he was in my homeroom, and he even went to the same after school thing as me.  So I saw him 5 days a week, all day.  Plus we saw each other on the weekends because he would take me to the movies which was cool cause I would have never went to the movies if it wasn’t for him.  So our friendship was pretty good, but he was very annoying; always calling me and bugging me.  So one day, I was camping with my cousins and my aunt had to bring me home and so when I went on the computer I had an email saying that my facebook password was changed and this happened and how there was a virus and all kinds of crazy stuff.  So after all that was cleared up, we stopped talking to each other for a while and then after a while, we started talking to each other again.  But the whole moral to this storey is that you could be GREAT friends with someone, and then it’s over in a flash.  So you never know who you can trust.

We had a homework assignment to ask 15 people what the American Flag symbolized to them.  Then we made a Wordle of all the peoples answers. Here it is.

When you listen to the Star Spangle Banner, do you really know what the heck it’s saying?
For this blog post, we have to say what we think the Star Spangle Banner means; so, here it is:

The Star Spangle Banner:

Oh, say can you see by the dawn’s early light
What so proudly we hailed at the twilight’s last gleaming?
Whose broad stripes and bright stars thru the perilous fight,
O’er the ramparts we watched were so gallantly streaming?
And the rocket’s red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there.
Oh, say does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave?

My Interpretation:

Oh, look over there in the morning horizon,
We are so proud that the fighting is all over,
We see the flag through the fog and smoke
Over the hills we see bravery running
The stream of  smoke and fire behind the rocket and the boom from the bombs
From the light of the rockets, we could see that the flag was still there
Oh there the flag still flows
Over the free land and brave.

The weapons used in the war of 1812 were knives, swords, bayonets, pistols, muskets, rifles, cannons and to a lesser extent, crude bombs. Among these different kinds of weapons, muskets and rifles with bayonets were the most used and in fact, were considered as the weapons that won the battles between these two opposing armies. This is because most battles were frontal in nature with wide distances between sides that would naturally call for the use of muskets and rifles.

Did you know that your brain could process a picture 80,000 times faster than words!  I think a symbol is created when something important happens.  Since we process pictures and symbols better, it is easier for us to comprehend things in our daily life.  For example, the American Flag.  Instead of writing, “The U.S has 50 States” we use a symbol.

I’ve always loved cars and always will.  My family owns a 94 Corvette; and my grandfather owns a 04 Mustang.  I’ve been around car most of my life and I am 14 years old.  My father and two uncles have always been around car as well.  My two uncles both have a motorcycle and one of them also has a corvette.  When I grow up and get my license, I plan to get a Corvette for myself.  Corvette

Another passion of mine that I have always wanted to start is learning to play guitar.  I just started taking lessons around Thanksgiving time.  I wish to learn all that I can learn with the guitar.  It would also be preaty neat to be in a band.

henry fordI think a hero is someone who is looked up too fro a good deed that they did.  In class we are doing a project on what does a hero mean and who is your hero… oh and it had to be from the 19th century;; cause that’s sort of important.  So anyways; I chose Henry Ford, founder of Ford motors.  Since I LOVE cars and grew up around very nice ones, I thought to myself how perfect is this!! henry fordhenry fordIIIIIIIIII

I think it is necessary to fight when you know that something is wrong and you want to change it. Fighting is standing up for something you beleive in.

The perfect classroom has big cumffy chairs and people who are doing all your work for you; and getting paid for it at the same time.
