I believe that it depends on the situation. For example, there were these 8th grade kids and they would bother this old lady. They would egg her house, torment her ect., but they never hurt her. So one day when the kids were in her yard she went outside with a rifle and fired it in the air, her intension was only to scare the kids out of her yard but instead the bullet hit a tree branch, it  off of it and hit one of the kids and killed him. In this situation you should judge the women on action because even though she didn’t intend to hurt the kid, at her age she knows better and that there are other ways to scare children off  then to fire a dangerous weapon in the air.  So really to this question “Should we define someone by their actions or their intentions?” I believe it depends on the situation and you should question the person(s) about what happened, so there is a fair punishment and answer to this question.

I had asked 15 people what the American Flag symbolizes to them, and took thier responses plus mine and made a wordle out of them.

Not most people know about the incredible woman, Dolly Madison. She was President James Madison’s wife and the First Lady from March 4th, 1809 to March 4th, 1813.  During the war of 1812 the British proceeded to burning Washington. When her husband told her to flee the White House because the British would be arriving, she refused to leave the White House until the painted portrait of George Washington was saved and taken from the White House so it would not be destroyed. This was very remarkable because she was risking her life to save the picture. Not only did she do this but, she also helped found a Washington D.C. home for orphaned girls. Dolly Madison was a remarkable woman and she should be remembered for what she has done.

What do you think when you hear the word “symbol”? Maybe you think of the American Flag. We all create different symbols for different reasons. When we create a symbols we think of something visual enough that someone will remember it or when something needs to be reconized, like the biohazard ”skull and cross bones” symbol. When we see that we atuomatically know not to touch or drink something because it may be harmful.  We create symbols to show something also, like freedom.  An example would be the American Flag or the Bald Eagle.  So, why would the American Flag be considered a symbol? The American Flag would be considered a symbol because it shows that we fought for what we believed in, which is also what it symbolizes. It also symbolizes freedom and pride. When any American raises or hangs the American Flag  they are showing that they have freedom and they also have pride in their country. So, when you see any symbol remember, there is always some meaning behind that picture or word that you happen to see.

I have two passions one is dancing and the other is hanging out with my friends. I don’t dance as much as I used to.  I also love to hang out with my friends.  So for the new year I would like to start dancing again and hang out at places with my friends more.  I don’t go many places with my friends, which I would like to. Most of the time we go to eachothers houses, but that can get boring after a while.  Sometimes we don’t see each other a lot so it’s nice to hang out together and catch up on things. The reason why I am so passionate about seeing my friends is because they are like my family.  The reason why I am so passionate about dancing is because I have been doing it since I was 5 years old, and it’s like my life. I recently stopped though because it started to interfere with my school work , So after 10 years I stopped.  To be able to start going out places with my friends more and start dancing again I will have to get myself organized.  So I will have time to do the things I want to do.  Hopefully by the end of this school year I will be able to meet this goal.

Five class rights that I think students should have are..

• Students should be able to chew gum in class as long as they don’t leave their wrappers behind.
• Students should be able to have their cell phones in class because if they don’t want to listen to what the teacher has to say then that’s their choice.
• Students should be able to have their iPods because again if they don’t want to listen to what the teacher has to say then that’s their choice if they want to fail a class.
• Students should be able to leave the classroom if they want to. If they don’t want to listen to directions or the lesson then that’s their choice.
• Students should be able to have a free period where they can talk to their friends.

Something I like to do is dance. I’ve been dancing for 10  years and I love it. I like dancing because I get all of my  energy, anger and any emotion that I’m feeling out. I do  tap and jazz, but I used to do ballet too but I stopped  after 8 years. My favorite type of dance is jazz because  it’s kind of like hip-hop in a way. I love to dance and I’m  going to miss it a lot.

I think a perfect classroom should have the things that you need to be successful. It should have materials that would be needed for projects or writing such as pencils, pens, markers crayons, paper etc.  It should also have a black board/ expo borad so the teacher can teach the kids. There should be desks so that the kids can sit down and be comfortable. They should also have a t.v. so you can watch movies. Lastly a perfect classroom should have a great teacher who is willing to help and teach the kids and children who are willing to be taught and learn.
