Have you ever heard the story of The Cherry Tree. George Washington didn’t cut down his fathers cherry tree it was a myth. I did a little research to see if the story was true or not and it said that it wasn’t that the author heard it from a relative and thought it was real. The famous saying in this story was “I cannot tell a lie, father, you know I cannot tell a lie, I did cut it with my little hatchet.” The peoplewanted the readers to think that George Washington didn’t lie and that he is an onist person.
