If I worked for the government these would be the rules I would make on becoming an American citizen!

The following are 5 rules I would make on who can become an American citizen.

1) They would have to get a job within the first month of being in America.

2) They need to get a background check of where they came from.

3) They would also need to go through a physical test of the body and mind.

4) Take a test to see what they know about where they are going.

5) After two months of being in this state they need to take a test to see what they have learned about where they are know living.

3) They could not be part of the

Action or Intention???

I think we should define someone depending on the situation. For example, if a 4th grade boy was joking around with his friends on the bus and hit another boy really hard that the other boy could not move his arm. Would you blame what that boy did on his actions or his intention? I would blame that boy on his intention because that boy was only joking around and his still too young to fully get the concept that hitting people too hard may not be good. It too would also depend on the boys home life and how his parents treat him. Like if his parents beat him up than he is most likely to beat kids up too because he is just doing what he is taught. If the boy keeps doing it and nobody says anything than he is just going to keep doing it. But, if teachers sit down and talk wit him and see what he can do to act better than the boy will begin to realize that beating people up and treating them bad is not nice and he needs to at like other chldren his age.

Who Will Andrew Jackson Be???

Andrew Jackson’s early life impacted the rest of his life because what he did and what happened to him in his childhood made him who he was as an adult. Like when Andrew was 15 he became an orphan and had kept moving around from family member to family member that would care for him. Since Andrew had no real family growing up when he got married he wanted to give his family the life he never had. Which included not leaving his kids and wife being there for his family. Andrew ended up marrying Rachel Donelson Robards, who is daughter of the late John Donelson, one of Nashville’s founders. Before Rachel married Andrew she was married to Lewis Robards. While Rachel was married to Lewis she was also seeing Andrew Jackson. Rachel and Jackson began livng as man and wife in 1791. They formally married in 1794 after Lewis wanted a divorce. These circumstances haunted Jackson during his presidential campaigns, opponents charged him with wife stealing. Jackson and Rachel were deeply devoted to eachother and remained so throughout their lives.

Another thing that impacted Jackson’s live was his temper. 1806 began with a minor misunderstanding over a horse race and that later ended with pistols between Andrew and Charles Dickinson. Dickinson was the 1st to fire and hit Jackson right in the chest. Andrew later carried Dickinson’s bullet for the rest of his life. In 1813, durng War of 1812 Jackson fought in a Nashville street brawl against the Benton brothers, Jesse and Thomas Hart. During this brawl Andrew took a bullet that nearly cost him his arm.

In May of 1814 Jackson by this time was a succes as a militia commander and was commissioned as a Untied States major general. Also in the May of 1814 Jackson was given command of the southern frontier.

All of this made Andrew Jackson very strong, both mentally and physically. He also learned not to get involed in things that were none of his business. Andrew Jackson later became the 7th president of the United States.

The Flag That Means Sooo Much!!!!

After learning about the war of 1812,I decided to look at the lyrics of the Star Spangled Banner this is what I got out of it. For your convience I pasted the lyrics below for you to see. That way you can see the lyrics that I had to analyze. I only have to analyze the first verse so if you want to check out the rest of the song you can go to (song)

Oh, say, can you see, by the dawn’s early light,
What so proudly we hailed at the twilight’s last gleaming?
Whose broad stripes and bright stars, thru the perilous fight,
O’er the ramparts we watched, were so gallantly streaming?
And the rockets’ red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there.
O say, does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave?

Yes I think this song  is historically accurate because the song tells that the flag was still flying when people woke up the next morning. Also that they had won that battle and had to move on to the next one.

In my own words, this is what I think the Star Spangled Banner means,

Can you see from the mornings light? We proudly worshipped the flag that night the American troop took over and won that night againists the british. The flag’s bright stripes and stars lasted through the nasty fight the night before. over the defensive wall we watched the flag fly with happyness. We then saw the red light from the on coming bombs flying though the air at high speed right at our fort. If the flag was still flying that means we won the fight. When people woke up that morning they saw that the flag was still there and were happy. Does the flag still wave, over the land of the free and the home of the brave?

John and Dolley had two sons together named,John Payne Todd and William Isaac Todd who died the same day as his father, John. Both John and William died on 1793.Dolley Madison then married John Madison who became the fourth president of The United States. Then the war of 1812 began and the Americans were no where near ready. Symbols of Important Things

We create symbols when someting important happens in your life time or thoughout history that you want or need to remember. People create symbols to know what things mean and what they stand for. People need symbols to tell themselves if something is safe or not.  The American Flag could be considered a symbol because it shows that people that live in the United States are free to do what they want. The american flag symbolizes people that they all live togetther, live united, and to have to resepect one another. People create symbols when something needs to be remembered or reconized.

My Passion for the New Year Is….

Something I love to do is dance. I have been dancing since I was six. For the new year I would like to practice on my dancing more and hanging out with my friends more. In dancing I would like to become a better dancer and practice my dances more that way I remember the dances more.I also want to hang out more with my friends. I want to see my friends more because there is alot of things I need to catch up on because some of my friends go to a different school than I go to. I care about catching up with my friends because they are like family to me and we used to do everything together but, then they went to a different school. So now when we all get together it is a big deal. To stay true to this passion I am trying to get together with my friends almost every weekend and when I have free time.To become a better dancer I am going to practice my dances alittle every night. At my dance studio,http://www.wellsphere.com/local-resource/diane-mello-school-of-dance-wallingford-ct/110812  if you forget your dance than my dance teacher will get mad and then she will not talk to you the rest of class. So for her not to get mad I could practice my dances more.tap shoes nmh To get my idea for this blog I have to give credit to this site, http://classblogmeister.com/blog.php?blogger_id=88116.

I love to shop because when i’m shopping i feel like nobody can stop me from doing what i want to do. Shopping is so fun too, because I just go and try things on. It is cool to see what the item looks like on me and I also like to go shopping with my friends because then we can catch up on things that are going on in school, we also give eachother advise about things like clothes and how they look on each of us.

My favorite quotes…..

Here are some of my favorite quotes and why I like them. “Do what makes you happy.” “Laugh as long as you breathe.”  I like these quotes because when i’m not happy than no one around me is happy so to always stay happy I do what makes me happy which is to laugh and have fun all the time. I like the second quote because I laugh all the time and my mom says the more I laugh the longer i’ll live.
