I think that the first Thanksgiving was a nice gathering bewteen the Indians and Pilgrims. Right? No.
Truth is..Thanksgiving wasn’t created until after the Civil War when Abraham Lincoln was President! He made it because after that the country had just had a war, he wanted an all-American holiday! It didn’t start on the 25th of November, but the week after. After a couple years they changed it to the 25th!
Weird huh? (:

Thanks For this great holiday, Abe!

What difference has blogging made to your life at school and home? e.g. how has it changed how you learn, the challenges of blogging and how teachers might make the process easier.
Blogging is like a fun way to learn. In school its fun doing it in class because you’re able to express your self instead in a post and tell how you feel. If we didn’t blog we’d be doing a paper about vocab or something boring that you’ll forget in 3 months. Ya know? It helps me learn better too. In the class we blog in we don’t just sit at a desk listening to the teacher talk for an hour straight we get up and do things to help with our blogging. Its really fun and I understand things more. So it has made a differnce in school to me.
I really enjoy blogging but sometimes the things in the challenges are hard to do and I don’t know how to do it but when I figure it out it’s cool. For example putting widgets in. I didn’t know how but when I did get it, they’re pretty cool things.

The first ten amendments are called the Bill of Rights.
We have the 10 amendments/ Bill of rights because it is sort of like the structure for the United States government.
Amendment number six states that each person is given a lawyer. (A public defender is provider for each defendant) *Each person accused of a crime gets a fair trial, meaning that he knows what he is being accused of, he has the right to present his case in from of a jury so not only one person is deciding his penalty and he has a right to an attorney.
There was a huge case in my state where a man was charged with the murder of one woman and two teenagers in a break in. He did have a jury and a fair trial, and based on the evidence was convicted. The jury decided on the death penalty. His sentencing date is in January.
