19th century history
by randyb on Feb.03, 2011, under Uncategorized
So let’s keep it simple this week. In a blog post teach me something about someone, something, or some event from 19th Century United States history. One rule, I can’t know anything about the person, object, or event. Teach me something new
Lets hope that you don’t know this but on Eventually wars started between China, Britain and France. (1839-1842, 1856) Those war changed a lot for them which reshaped the history for them. In the 1840s England was given as one section of Hong Kong which on July 1, 1997. Chinese laborers of the 19th Century promoted use of opium in the western United States when they were imported to build the railroads. So that is just a little about the subject.
Very interesting quote

Interpret the following quote:
“Do great leaders make history? Or does history make great leaders?”
Which do you believe?
I think that leaders make great history and history makes great leaders so I think that it is a little bit of both. Because if you have a really good leader then they could make history and a leader can look back on history and then what they got from that could make them a great leader also so I am not shure on which on I would agree with.
A Great Leader
by randyb on Jan.27, 2011, under Uncategorized
Choose someone that you believe is a great leader and describe three leadership characteristics the person has, and examples of when and how that characteristic was used to lead.
A great leader that I would have to choose would be Barrack Obama and three leadership characteristics would be that he is courageous, he wont back down and he will stand up for what he believes is right. He is courageous because he is always wondering about what is gong to happen to the world and the economy. He wont back down because he is the president and he can give up and he just has to deal with it and work with it. Lastly he will believe in what is right because he has to help everyone and lead them in the right direction and by doing that he can.

What characteristics does a good leader have?
It is someone that will always do the right thing and will steer people in the right direction. Also they wont back down even if something hard came in their way they will keep fighting for what they believe.
Are leaders made? or born?
They are made because you have to work to become a leader and you cannot just “I’m going to be a leader when I grow up”, you have to work for it to become a true leader.
Describe a time when you were a leader.
I was a leader in baseball because I would lead my team to do what they were suppose to. Also I would lead them to do better and to practice and get better that is how I was a time when I was a leader.
Describe a time when you followed a leader.
I follow leaders when I need help with something and I know they can do it better than me. I also follow leaders because I just look up to them
Can anyone be a leader?
Yes I think that anyone can be a leader if they wanted to but they would have to truly want to do it and be committed to do it also. But I think they would have to have certin characteristics in order to be a good leader.
Are you a leader?
I am kind of a leader to my little brother because he looks up to me and he gets what he does form me so in a way I am but I do not think I am a big leader to anyone els.
What are you strongest abilities as a leader?
My strongest abilities as a leader would be that I can lead people in the right direction and I will not lead them in the wrong direction because I do not want to do that to anyone and I can help people if the are having a hard time with anything also.
If you don’t consider yourself a leader, what is standing in the way?
I consider myself as a leader.
Significant object
by randyb on Jan.06, 2011, under Uncategorized
This my significant object is a skateboarding sticker because it is my favorite skateboarding company and I got it for Christmas. I like it because it is my favorite skateboarding company called “Girl”. It is significant to me because I love to skateboard and it is my favorite thing to do. Others might think it is nothing but to me I really like it because it really shows who I am.

Today in the news they talked about how the gas prices went up from $10 a gallon to 15$ a gallon because more people are buying hover cars and the gas is allot more expensive than regular cars and the hover cars are allot more energy efficient than regular cars.
