When Its Acceptable To Put Pictures of Yourself on Your Blog
Author: robg | Filed under: UncategorizedWell I dont think its ever appropriate or inapporiate to put a picture of yourself on your blog. I think its more of your own choice and decision thing. If you have written something for example, a post about revolutionary war, you should not put a picture of yourself up there. It doesnt make any sense. But if you write a post about yourself or your doing an “all about me” page then yes I guess it would be okay to put a picture of yourself up there. Personally I would not put of a picture of myself up there for many reasons. One and most important safety. You do not just want any random person on the internet seeing a picture of yourself. Its not safe. Like Andrea said in her blog, “I particularly don’t want to share with the world pictures of myself”. I agree with her because its just a saftey issue. You just never know what could happen. Another reason is someone on the internet could steal that picture and use it for there needs. They could falsify there identity and use a picture of you which could be very dangerous. This also is a saftey issue. They could post a picture of you and write something “criminalacious” or write lies about something a say you did it even though you didn’t. Personaly I would not put a picture of myself up there but it would be okay. Its all based on your decision.

Dear Rob,
An excellent post about using images on the Internet. Your use of transitions really helps the flow of your paragraph. Well done!
I just left a comment on Dominique’s blog about limiting information on the Internet.
I mentioned that a lot of people are geo-tagging their images these days. That way, you can see where the picture was taken in the world.
What do you think of this idea? Can you think of any good reasons for geo-tagging? Any negatives?
Great post, Rob!

I think it is essential to keep any form of your identity to yourself online, even if its on a safe spot.
