O say, can you see, by the dawn’s early light,
Can you see the flag in the light of the sunrise,
What so proudly we hail’d at the twilight’s last gleaming?
that we proudly bowed in front of in the last light of the sunset?
Whose broad stripes and bright stars, thro’ the perilous fight,
The flag’s stripes and stars stayed broad and bright even through the endless fighting,
O’er the ramparts we watch’d, were so gallantly streaming?
over the fortress we watched them nobly marching?
And the rockets’ red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
and the rockets and bombs lit up the dark sky,
Gave proof thro’ the night that our flag was still there.
The light that the bombs and rockets gave off showed that our flag was still high and waving.
Is our flag still waving in the air
O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave?
Over America, the place were people have freedom and bravery?
