My classmates and I were going on a field trip when all of a sudden our plane crashed on a planet that we have never been on. It was just us young kids because all of our teachers and parents died in the crash. On this lonely planet we were forced to write rules to keep us safe and to keep future generations safe. While I was writing the rules I realized that some of the rules and the process in which we wrote the rules that there are some similarities and differences to the Constitution.

While researching how the Constitution was written I noticed a similarity on how we wrote our rules for our new planet. There were multiple people who wrote the Constitution just like we had multiple people when we were writing the rules for our new planet. The Constitution was written by about 35 delegates. There were 55 delegates at one point, but the weather was too bad to keep traveling back and forth so only 35 delegates wrote the Constitution. We had 4 people to come up with rules for our planet, but it was easier for us. We didn’t have to travel back and forth through cold, harsh weather like the delegates did. There needed to be multiple people writing the constitution and writing the rules for our planet because there needs to be opinions from more than just one person on how to live.

As I was researching the Constitution, I found that the second Amendment is very similar to one of our rules for defense. It says the right to own guns. It says that it either protects the state or an individual. This is similar to the rules that we wrote for defense because we said that everyone should own at least one weapon. This rule is to protect individuals from danger of the wild or if they are being threatened. This rule is needed because if a person does not have a weapon on hand to protect them from danger, it can danger their lives.

When I was researching the rules of the Constitution, I noticed that the 26th Amendment is different than one of our rules. The 26th Amendment says that people over 18 can vote. This means that when you are an official adult that you can vote. On our planet there is not a certain age you have to be to vote. This means that you can vote at whatever age you choose to. I think that the rule in the Constitution is better than ours because when you are older you are more mature and know how to vote for the right thing.

The way the delegates wrote the Constitution is different than the way we wrote our rules because it was all men who wrote it. Back then, women didn’t really have the right to do anything. They couldn’t vote or have say in anything that went on in the government. When we were writing our rules, there were many girls involved. The years have changed and women now have as many rights as men do. It’s important for women to be involved in the government because it shows a different perspective of people. Women are people just like men are. Men shouldn’t have more rights over us.

Today on our planet, we have many established rules for the generations to come. We have created them on our own, just us young kids. They are similar to the Constitution in many ways. They are also very different from the rules of the United States. This shows that the way men thought many years ago, is the way people still think in the present years.
