15 minutes of fame

This was one of the first times when i actually felt like everything was focused on me. I felt really important. Im in this picture above.

The reason why is because people from the library of congress came up to film us because we archived websites that either influenced us  and sites that other kids our age go on. It was alot of fun and il never forget it. Im glad i did this and thank Mr.Bogush for choosing me for that.

The day was boring until we got on the camera it really was like 15 minutes of fame. The people that asked us questions made it alot easier.

Andrew Jacksons influences in his life

Andrew Jackson grew up poor, and only had  a mother because his dad left him. He also had 2 brothers they both died when he was around the age of 15.  His mother also died around the same time from a sickness. He was known for his bad temper and engaged in many duels in his life. He also faught in the war of 1812 and gathered troops and pirates to help him fight in New Orleans. He won the battle and became a hero. After that he ran for president but didnt win. He ran again and won.

To me these events influenced his presidency because it made him strong and gave him plenty of wisdom. He got those things from fighting in the war, losing his family and running for president. He was also an adventurous person because he did some crazy things in his life for example. He took a bulet to the chest in a duel and then shot his opponent and killed him. And on his inogeration day he threw a party in the white house, and invited everyone.495px-Andrew_Jackson

Do you judge people by their actions or intentions?

Almost 100 percent of the time i judge people by their actions, because your action is soemthing you actually did and an intention is what you were thinking of doing. For example say if someone said they were going to hurt someone who was being mean to them but they never did. Thats how i judge someone. Where do you think the saying all talk no action came from? From people doing stuff like that, they had the intention of doing soemthing but they never really did.

Admiral Alexander Cochcrane

Admiral Alexander Cochrane’s claim to fame is that he spent his military life fighting in the revolutionary war and the war of 1812. But he also spent part of his career in the Egyptian operations. He was knighted into The Order of the Bath in 1806 for his service in the West Indian operations. In the war of 1812 he served as commander in cheif of the North american station. He is also responsible for the attack on Fort McHenry, Which is when Francis Scott Key wrote the “star spangled banner”. An interesting fact about him is that during one of the battles he took part in a cannonball struck his ship and took his aht off barely missing his head. Admiral Cochrane had a very succesful career as a soldier in the British Navy and he died in Paris on the 26th of January in 1832.

What does the word symbol mean to you?

We create symbols because people need something to believe  in, or need to symbolize something like power, fear, or hope. We create symbols because they represent many things and can be much more powerful then words. People need symbols because they give things importance. I think we need symbols because they represents more then a word can, you can forget what words an or how to spell them, but i guarantee you that you wont  forget what the cross or peace symbol mean when you see them.

The American flag is a symbol because it symbolizes our country and the struggle it went through to become the symbol it is today. The American flag stands for peace, equal rights, and plenty of other things are country had to endure over time. Those are the things our country stands for. Its a symbol because it is a symbol of importance, its well known, and represents something important. This is why the American Flag is a symbol and important to me and millions of other people.
