New Things 3/2/10

Hello, peoples(: I haven’t been on this blog in a while, and I started to miss it. Alright, new things?

Have I ever told you guys that I’m starting to write my own book? Well, I’ve started for a while now. More of last year. I’m not exactly going to tell you what it is about (smiles hugely), so you’re just going to have to wait until I finish the book. (Muahahah) Which, should be by towards the end of the year. That’s pretty much my New Year’s resolution too; complete my book and get off of soda for one whole year. The second one is pretty tough but it is possible.

Secondly, my mom’s birthday is today. She’s turning 41, I just wanted to share that with everyone. And mom, if you’re reading, happy birthday!

And lastly.. I’m going back to Vietnam for vacation(: Gosh, I seem to be telling everyone this today. Well, yes I’m going back to Vietnam. I haven’t been there in about 11 years and I kind of miss it because my mom’s whole side of the family is there, plus not to mention I was born there. Another thing that makes me oh-so unique. To conclude, I can’t wait to go back. Here’s a picture of what it looks like there.

Numnut – excuse me, what did you call me?

Huh, A Gold Rock?

Hey everyone. Today I just really want to show you an interesting picture that I found while on Flickr. I want everyone who views this post to at least comment on what you think the picture means.

Here’s a hint, what exactly stands out in the picture. And why it does? How do you think this represents the social life of average people now a days?

Book Recommendations

Well, it’s about 9:00 at night; I’m tired, but I can’t sleep; plus it’s too early. So guess where I’m at? Here! Writing another post, yes. I think I’m getting obsessed, blogging is pretty fun and I’ve never really known that until now. Isn’t that something?

Well, you’ve read the title. I hope. Book recommendations! A book that I’m sure everyone would enjoy is Maximum Ride. I’ve found my new love to these books about three months ago, and I just really really really really really want to share that with you. I hope you don’t mind.

Maximum Ride: The Angel Experiment (Volume #1)

Maximum Ride: The Angel Experiment (Volume #1)

Brief summary:

Maximum Ride is pretty much about this six kids, no parents, nothing. For about half of their lives, they’ve lived in pretty much dog cages and being experimented on by evil scientist. Yes, you heard me, evil. An experiment that are experimented on them is called ‘The Maze’. These kids would be put into huge mazes and they would have to find their ways out at a certain time or they would be zapped by these lasers.

Why these kids have been captured? Well, here’s the catch, they have wings. Immediately right after they were born, they were kidnapped and put into the science labs so they can be injected with 2% avian DNA ‘causing them to sprout wings. Well, they’ve lived like this for quite a while until they met this ‘nice’ scientist, Jeb. He took care of them and was pretty much like a father figure to them and he later then escapes with them. Jeb lives with the six kids for about a year until he disappears. So this then leaves the oldest, Max, to take care of the group until four years later, Angel, the youngest member in the group, ends up being captured by Erasers, these wolf like creatures.

When Max and the flock go to get Angel back, they end up being captured too; in which this leads to Max meeting Jeb again and the first thing Jeb says to Max is, “Max, you have to save the world.”

*Sorry for leaving you guys a “cliffhanger”. But you should know why I did so. Anyways, read the book. You will love it. And you won’t regret it. Trust me, it’s amazing.*

Let it snow!

Hey peoples, guess what?! Guess what?! Guess what?!

Well…..

About three hours ago.

It snowed.

I know isn’t that amazing?!

So, I just figured that I should update my blog.

And guess what I added?

Well, you should technically already see it ’cause it’s right in front of your faces.

SNOW!

Yeah, that’s right, aren’t I so cool?

Ahhh, you’re just jealous(:

I know, I’m such a confidence booster, aren’t I?

I got really, really, really, really, really, bored today since we left school early because of the massive snow storm I guess you can say we had. SO. Now here I am, updating my blog. I feel like such a nerd but I love it(:

*Just a note. Sometimes the snow won’t work. Just sayin’. I know, sorry, don’t worry it bursted my bubble too.):

The Core To A Relationship With A Friend

Friends are always dependable. Some may give you negative experiences and/ or positive experiences in life. They may be a long term friend or a short term friend.

The core to someone’s friendship is always important and has a strong link between each other because that’s the place where you’re able to trust each other. You would know where the soft spots are of each other, what they can or can not do/ what they’re capable of.

Sometimes, a relationship with another wouldn’t exactly be so great. So in the end, you may ‘break it off’ with them, and finally decide that they’re not the greatest influence on you. This will end up giving you further notice that, before you trust another person, you must know them inside and out, and their flaws and what nots. You would have to know when you feel the strong relationship with you and the other. So before you may get into some serious stuff, like go to a party with them, you must trust them that they’re not going to do anything bad, for example: drinking underage, so they wouldn’t impact you with that bad influence.

A personal experience is the relationship with my friends and I. We all know each other inside and out, what we’re capable of, and if we can trust each other. For sure, I have a better connection in trusting my friends because we all experience many things that are alike, since we’re all teens, and we go through pretty much most of the challenges of everyday life together. My friends and I may bug the heck out of each other sometimes, but we’re all pretty much siblings and are able to understand how we all feel about life and the things that may come out to be unexpected sometimes.

Should We Judge By Intentions Or Actions?

Most people would judge others on their actions because it’s the first thing that they see from them. Usually, you would start being mad at them because of what they had done. Before, you see the reason why they have done it. Or, it may the other way around. Someone may have done something on purpose, and intended to do it on purpose because they are planning to do something bad after that.

In my opinion, I really think it’s best to judge on someone by their intentions because it’s always best to know why the person has done that action before you go complaining to them on why they have done it.

An example is: It was your birthday and you’ve got a gift from your Aunt. Right when you open it, you realize that you absolutely hate it. Your Aunt’s intention was that you would like the gift. In your view, you would think that she got you a gift you hated on purpose. Finally, you figured out the reason why she has got you that gift; and you then realize the she didn’t mean to get you that gift.

The example above is trying to say that it’s best to know the reason why someone has done something before you judge them.

Converse

converse

Hello! Hmmm, well today’s next topic is about my favorite shoe brand, ‘Converse‘. Have you heard of them? Well, I think they’re pretty cool. My opinion: I think they express the kind of person you are, just by the style or color.” For example: Someone may come to school wearing hot pink high tops. The first thing someone may think of that person is, outgoing, and fun. Well, I don’t know, just my opinion. Plus I just felt like blurbing out something about Converse today.

People wear Converse for sports, style, and what nots. I kind of wear them for all categories. I’ll wear Converse everywhere I go, I just love these shoes so much. They’re so comfy and they won’t slip off from your heels like most shoes would.

I currently have two pairs, one of them as a white background with black spots on it. They’re my cow shoes.[: Sorry, that was really weird, but yes, I do call them cow shoes, my mom got them for me and I love them! My other pair is just plain gray. I love that one too, and I wear it a bit more then the black and white ones, only because the black and white ones are a bit worn out now..

Anyways, well I’m just planning on saving up some of my money so I can buy myself a birthday present, in which my birthday is coming up soon. I mean, yeah you guys can really care less but.. I just felt like telling you that, ’cause I do things like that alot.[:  I’m thinking of getting the high tops that are black, but with the white rubber.. if you know what I’m talking about. They’re pretty much the original style of Converse. (Click on the link.) Either that, or the neon green ones! I love that one…

Well, I guess this shall be the end of my rambling. Thanks for reading, if you guys even bothered! If ya didn’t, well.. actually I won’t say anything ’cause if no one read my post then there’s no point to writing down this sentence, will there? (;

(*Note this: Amanda, I’m not saying ‘Converses’. Like most people would do ’cause it is a pretty common mistake. I just don’t get why people do it though.. sorry just rambling on. If you people haven’t met me yet, just saying but, I talk about random things alot. Whatever comes to the top of my head, I blurt it out, and somehow my friends and I would build off of that subject. It’s weird.)

Certain Words That Symbolize Our Flags

 Wordle Words

I had asked fifteen people, my family and my friends, a few words that may come to their minds if I were to tell them something about the American Flag.

After, I went onto www.wordle.net/create to copy and paste all of my words in which I had created the huge diagrams of all of the words they had said. Several are repeated which means they are the ones that stood out the most.

America’s Greatest Song

eagle american flag

Have you ever wondered what the meaning behind the ‘Star Spangled Banner’ really meant? Why do we sing it before a football game? Why is it so important?

The original song ‘The Star Spangled Banner’ is originally written by Francis Scott Key. When the American’s finally won the Warof 1812, Francis was said to be there witnessing the cheering and hope in the air. With this, Francis took out a quil, ink, and an envelope, beginning with the first two verses of  ‘The Star Spangled Banner.” The whole entire lyrics pretty much explain exactly what had happened towards the end of the war. For example: The song would explain how the song still flew proud and free; and also how the enemies from far away could still see the flag flying, understanding their defeat.

Well, Mr. Bogush has recently assigned us to rewrite the first verse of the ‘Star Spangled Banner’ so many other people can learn to understand it. Well, here’s my version of it:

Can you see the great light off in the distance?

Until night, we still had hung our flag proudly.

The flag still flew freely through the great fight.

From far away, you can still see it flying high and proud.

Fireworks bursted in the air for our celebration.

Within this our flag still flew, telling us that our country is still free.

The flag still flew high.

Freedom flew like the wind with our flag, our citizens are courageous.
